This holiday is for you to experience the best of two fantastic cultures as you will mix Greek and Italian cookery with Greek and Balkan wines in the historical town of Marathon on the South Evian Sea. Learn how to make delicious Greek dishes, as well as pastas and risottos, discover the secrets of balancing the herbs and spices, and get out of the kitchen to enjoy a fantastic wine tour. This break will influence your attitude towards cooking and culture!
During this holiday, you will stay either in a double room or a shared quadruple room. The Marathon Blue luxury villa features four twin bedrooms, one quadruple room, and five bathrooms, making it the perfect place for groups, couples, or solo travelers. All rooms offer luxury high quality hand ironed linens, free Wi-Fi connection, and air conditioning. It is equipped with a state of the art home cinema installation and satellite television to speedy internet connection, a wonderful garden with a swimming pool, and much more.
During this holiday, you will learn how to cook delicious Mediterranean dishes, such as three different kinds of risottos, three different types of pasta with various sauces such as pomodoro and basilico, radicchio and spec, ragout, and frutti di mare. You will sweeten yourself up with unique desserts made from locally produced Greek yogurt and a variety of genuine local honey and seasonal fruits.
You will be using fresh and organic ingredients, sourced from local farms, and you will be in a small group so that your tutor can give you the best and most personalized feedback and attention. You will also enjoy a wine tour as well as a visit to a regional farmers’ market to take in the colors and fragrance of fresh produce. You will have an amazing fish preparation session, right next to the sea, a visit to a local wood-burn bakery, and a traditional yogurt and ice cream artisan producer.
You are the chef that will prepare the meals, under guidance. This program is for everyone who likes to be active all day, make new friends, and see new places. If you come to just relax, you will be taken care of in order to have the best experience.

This trip is great for solo culture vultures who want to immerse themselves in Marathon. With sociable accommodation and loads of fun activities, you’ll get to know your fellow travelers in no time, many of whom will be there alone too.
Upon arrival to the airport, you will be transferred to the Marathon Blue residence where you will enjoy a welcoming Ouzo drink. After you unpack and relax, you will meet to talk about the schedule and decide on what you are going to do during your time there. The itinerary is flexible based on your preferences and passions. After you are settled, it will be about time to prepare a light traditional dinner.
After breakfast, you will head to the start of the Authentic Marathon run, the running museum, and will visit a local shop to pick up some herbs and spices.
For the cookery lesson, you will visit the beautiful Sessi beach where you will learn how to prepare tzatziki, appetizers, and fresh fish in a local tavern in front of the Evian Sea. For lunch, you will have the delicious fish that you just cooked.
After your cooking session, you will visit a regional farmer’s market from where you will pick fresh ingredients for the next day's cookery lesson. Before coming home, you will stop in Schinias, at the National Park and at the Olympic rowing center, where you will have a few hours to relax and enjoy. For dinner, you will return to the villa to relax with a glass of fine Zitsa prosecco while enjoying the sea view and listening to traditional Greek music. Spyros will gladly accept your help for preparing dinner if you still have the energy.
After breakfast, you will visit the area of Marathon up to the port of Rafina where the fish market is located and you will walk around to take some amazing photo shoots. From there, you will visit a traditional 50-year old wooden-burn bakery and learn the secret of making the most delicious Greek pastries. After enjoying a hot feta cheese pie, you will head to a local winery. You will have the chance to taste some of their amazing wines.
You will return home in time for you to relax for a few hours before preparing the dinner. The cookery lesson will start approximately at 6 p.m. You will learn the fine art of preparing tasty risottos in a variety of ways. You will receive constant guidance. After an intensive cooking session, it will be time to relax with a glass of fine wine and enjoy the view before serving the meal you just prepared. On a big screen, you will see the Sirtaki and other Greek traditional dances.
After breakfast, enjoy your free time for your last photo opportunity and get the contacts of your new friends that you have made during your stay before your transfer to the airport.

It constitutes an emblematic symbol of democracy and the trophy of supremacy of human values and spirit. Today the plain of Marathon is covered in luscious greenery and full of a range of delightful flora and fauna. The Blue Marathon Villa is designed with an eclectic architectural taste and it was built to provide absolute comfort and relaxation while fitting into the beautiful rural scenery that surrounds it. The nearest restaurants are two kilometers away and the next town is five kilometers from the villa.
