Join Mandilli de Saea to learn how to cook delicious local Italian food. Led by Anna, an expert in Italian food, you will attend cooking workshops on Ligurian cuisine. Hosted in a beautiful terrace garden overlooking the gulf, the classes offer fun while preparing Italian dishes and their more typical sauces and pasta fillings. So, get your taste buds ticking and learn how to cook aromatic food, relish the dishes that you prepare, and sip a glass of Vermentino in a relaxed environment.
You will be staying at Casa Marina, a three levels single family villa with outdoor terrace and surrounding garden. This beautiful casa is situated on a charming hill overlooking the gulf, at half way between Portofino and Cinque Terre. The venue offers a great location which is suitable to enjoy the typical Ligurian environment offering quietness and enchanting natural surroundings.
Due to its exposure to the south, the villa enjoys the sunshine all day long and is also surrounded by woods and olive groves for the perfect shade. The villa is spacious, finely decorated, and can accommodate up to four people.
It offers a big and comfortable living room at the ground floor, along with a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy dining room arranged in the veranda. Two double bedrooms are available for the guests, that are reachable on the upper floors through internal stairs, along with two bathrooms with shower.
A patio just outside the main entrance completes the villa, arranged with a gazebo, it is just perfect to enjoy your meals and relax outside. Trellised cars parking area at the street level is at your disposal. Stone paved stairs give access to the villa from the street level. The villa is located at a distance of four kilometers from the coast and Chiavari downtown.
You will be introduced to the secrets of simple but savory Italian cuisine while you prepare the typical dishes yourself. Each workshop will last three hours, either in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on the menu and the requests. In any case, you will be provided with a relaxed learning experience while creating the same atmosphere as found in typical Italian homes.
You will learn cooking by using local products. You will be using locally produced basil and extra virgin olive oil as main ingredients for the preparation of pesto sauce. Have real fun preparing Ligurian dishes such as pansotti with hazelnut sauce, lasagne with pesto, stuffed vegetables, pizza with anchovies, cheese focaccia, and much more.
Every lesson will end by enjoying a tasting session or a real dinner together with wine included. The dinner will be based on the dishes prepared under the friendly guidance of the cook and enjoyed on Anna's pretty terraced garden overlooking the gulf.
Italian from Milan, Anna mastered a diversified career as a sales executive secretary in different companies in her own town. After three years stay in Dublin (Republic of Ireland) where she picked up the fluency in English, Anna moved to Liguria, Portofino area, in 2003, she successfully managed her own B&B for 12 years, thanks to her command of the English and French languages, and her familiarity in public relations. After closing the B&B, she has been busy promoting the Portofino area and offering different initiatives such as holiday rentals and cooking classes held by herself.
This cooking vacation will take place in Liguria. Your classes will be held at Anna's kitchen and garden in Cogorno, a small village on the Ligurian hills overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio (Portofino area).
You will be served daily breakfast and lunch or dinner, based on meals prepared during the workshops. You will also be offered local wine as an apéritif.

Please book your train to arrive at Lavagna train station, you can take a taxi or rent a car to arrive at Cogorno from there.
