Join Mandilli de Saea to learn how to cook delicious local Italian food. Led by Anna, an expert in Italian food, you will attend cooking workshops on Ligurian cuisine. Hosted in a beautiful terrace garden overlooking the gulf, the classes offer fun while preparing Italian dishes and their more typical sauces and pasta fillings. So, get your taste buds ticking and learn how to cook aromatic food, relish the dishes that you prepare, and sip a glass of Vermentino in a relaxed environment.
During this holiday, you will be staying in one of the apartments Anna manages for her guests, enjoying all the comfort and privacy by yourself. You will have a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal, along with the double bed bedroom, the living / dining room and a private bathroom with toilet and shower. The main entrance is at the first floor of a characteristic countryside building, located inland from Portofino area, at 9 km from the beaches. A cozy balcony furnished with table and chair allows the guests to enjoy meals outside overlooking the garden. The garden itself is fully equipped with table, chairs, and trellis for to relax outside and keep your pets happy.
This culinary vacation is a great opportunity to experience the Italian real lifestyle in an enchanting area as the east coast of Genoa, dominated by Portofino peninsula. Anna from Mandilli de Saea is pleased to welcome you to this part of Liguria, offering an independent apartment as accommodation and leading you to experience this region through her cooking lesson.
You will be taught the art of the local cuisine in Anna's kitchen and lead to experience this region through wine tastings, and lots of suggestions for your own excursions.
You will be introduced to the secrets of this simple but savory cuisine, while you prepare its typical dishes yourself. Each workshop will last three hours, either in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on the menu and the requests. In any case, Mandili de Saea will provide a relaxed, learning experience while creating the same atmosphere as found in typical Italian homes, also using local products. You will have real fun preparing Ligurian dishes such as Pansotti with hazelnut sauce, lasagne with pesto, stuffed vegetables, pizza with anchovies, cheese focaccia, and much more. The cooking session foresees the active involvement of the participants and will end by enjoying a tasting session or a real dinner together, wine included. The meal will be based on the dishes prepared with Anna the cook and enjoyed on her cute terraced garden overlooking the gulf.
This culinary vacation includes a local trip to the outdoor Chiavari's typical fruit and vegetables market before reaching the apartment for the cooking session.
Born and educated in Milan, Anna Minghetti gained there a considerable and diversified career as office assistant in sales and export departments until 1991. After a 3-year study and work stay in Dublin (Rep. of Ireland), she returned to Milan and continued her career as personal assistant at international companies until 2002. After moving to Liguria in Chiavari area, in 2003 she proudly opened her B & B, thanks to her command of English and French and her familiarity in public relations. She had to close down her B&B in 2012 but since then she has been dealing with the promotion of the tour
This vacation takes place at Nè, a small village along the Graveglia stream along the valley by the same name, off the beaten track and inland from Lavagna small town. The beaches and the the coastline belonging to the Tigullio Gulf, east of Genoa, are at 9 km. The cooking class will be held in Anna's private kitchen instead, in the village of Cogorno, not far from the accommodation. From Anna's house and garden you will enjoy a spectacular view over the gulf, with Portofino Promontory at a distance.
Every day during this holiday, you will be served daily delicious lunch and dinner. Wine is also included as an aperitif.
During this holiday, you will have plenty of time to sightsee, along with a visit to the Tigullio Gulf and its small villages, still so genuine in their environment and style of life. Good shopping, spoilt for choice about restaurants and street food spots.
A great variety of outdoor sports facilities is available along the beaches and in the inland areas, like trekking, sailing, free climbing etc.
