"My friend recommended this place and I went with my husband. What a brilliant place. The decor is fabulous, with cozy booths with canopies and plenty of cushions, almost Moroccan. The service was perfect, very friendly and attentive. And the food! Beautifully presented and so, so tasty. A good range of unusual dishes catering to every taste. And the best part was the price. Three courses of delicious food for just 20 GBP. Will definitely be going again."

"I can't believe how good this place is, actually one of the best meals I have ever had, and I've dined in a couple of Michelin starred restaurants so that is some compliment. We stayed at the hotel Maiyango next door and, despite being urged by friends who have lived in Leicester to get a curry, we couldn't resist the quirky looking restaurant and very different menu. It was a refreshing change that the restaurant serves, vegan and vegetarian food along with fish and meat dishes. It's very warm and inviting and the decor of recycled dark wood, candles and lavish jewel colored ethnic cushions, and wall and ceiling drapes is different and very relaxing. We sat and had drinks (they serve cocktails but they all looked a bit sweet), perused the menu and it's all very refreshing, different and exciting."

"I booked a table for my man`s birthday, as we were off to the theatre and staying in the hotel too. I had read the reviews but wasn't prepared for just how fabulous this restaurant is! The decor is fabulous. We were lead to a very cozy romantic booth which was very comfy with the drapes and cushions. Starting with very yummy chili cocktails the food itself was incredible, the service albeit a tad slow overall was brilliant. The little personal, touch of the happy birthday decorated on my mans dessert was a nice little touch too. We loved the experience, will definitely head back there and totally recommend if you're looking for something a bit different with fabulous food."

"We had the 7-course vegan tasting menu (even though we're not vegan) and it was wonderful. Particularly liked the 'textures of beetroot with artichoke puree'. Great cocktails too."

"What can i say..absolutely amaizing! I treated my boyfriend to a meal and stay here just last night for his birthday and it was absolutely brilliant. The food was like nothing we've tasted before, so many different flavours yet they go so well! The service was also brilliant, very quick and very attentive staff. We were seated in a side booth, which i would definitely recommend especially for a couple, perfect for date night! So cosy and romantic. It wasn't at all cheap, we had the three course each, a cocktail and a bottle of wine to share and it came to about 115 GBP, definitely not an everyday meal out but for an occasion such as a birthday it is definitely worth it. Such a lovely experience, we will definitely be back!! Thank you."

"Been trying to get in Maiyango for a while as it came highly recommended. We sat and had a cocktail first but was over half an hour until we were seated (we did book). I then had to go up to the bar (as staff were busy) for another drink which involved squeezing through very tight spaces as the tables were too close to each other. However, it then became great, friendly service, food was brilliant and consistent including the nice little appetisers between meals. If you are generally a fan of fine dining and exquisite food then this your place. Personally I think it was well worth what I paid as I know and appreciate good food and this was it."

"Very impressed with this resturant. Could not fault service or food. Had cocktails while we waited for our table which are by far the best i've tasted in the area. We experienced the taster menu, which was seven smaller courses. Each dish was beautifully presented with good portion sizes and just generally very tasty. Would recommend and looking forward to going back!"

"Our mixologist, Jessica was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. She showed us a twist on a classic mojito, flavored with pineapple and pink peppercorns but was happy to adapt ingredients to individuals' tastes. This was followed by a selection of cocktails, including after eight martinis and cosmopolitans. We were invited and encouraged to explore new ingredients and along with sampling a range of delicious canaps, we learnt a few tricks of the trade and had some laughs along the way.In our group, there were vegetarians and non-alcohol drinkers and we all felt included and well catered for. None of us had been to a cocktail workshop before, so didn't quite know what to expect but it was hands on from the start and lots of fun."
