You will be staying at La Maison de Laroc. La Maison de Laroc is a luxury modern-style house situated in a picturesque village of the Dordogne Valley which is listed among the 100 most beautiful spots in France. The house has three spacious bedrooms, living room, dining room, and a private balcony-terrace oriented south with a view of the valley.

During the holiday, La Maison de Laroc is especially privatized for you. Guest rooms are furnished with a queen, king, or twin-single beds - each has its private en-suite bathrooms with a walk-in shower and separate toilets. Amenities include air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, bathrobes, hairdryer, toiletries, mini-bar, and refrigerator.

This program includes four hands-on cooking classes scheduled in the morning or in the afternoon. You will experience and make at least 15 different recipes from scratch. Despite the South West cuisine is reputed to be rich, Corinne has created well-balanced menus paired with local wines such as Bergerac, Montbazillac, and Pecharmant.

What are you going to cook?

The Perigord cuisine celebrates the countryside traditions. Menus will follow seasonal fresh produce. It can include duck paté, onion soup, chestnut and foie gras velouté, escargots and mushrooms pastry, truffle scrambled eggs, beef fillet with wine sauce and seasonal vegetables, fish paupiette with a sauce beurre-blanc, chicken “Made-in-Perigord", seasonal fruits clafoutis, soufflé, walnut cake, walnut and honey crepes, poached fruits in red wine, brioche French toast, pears and walnut tart, and much more.

You will, of course, enjoy the Rocamadour and Cabecou local goat creamy cheese accompanied by walnut oil dressed salad! Coffee can be accompanied with a small glass of Armagnac or walnut liquor.

Itinerary

Day 1, Sunday

Welcome to Bergerac airport or to Sarlat train station. Private transfer to La Maison de Laroc. Upon arrival, you will be given some time to rest and relax. Then, at 4:00 p.m., you will be transferred to Corinne's house in Saint-Cybranet, just 10 minutes away from the guesthouse.

You will then be served with welcome aperitif and dinner accompanied by wine. You will meet each other, discuss, and review the program together. Afterwards, you will be transferred back to La Maison de Laroc for an overnight.

Day 2, Monday

After breakfast, you will transfer to Saint-Cybranet and join Corinne in the kitchen to partake your first cooking class. You will learn how to prepare a three-course menu and a paté that you will enjoy later in the week. Tasting lunch will follow after the class.

In the afternoon, you will visit to the walnut farm and to Castelnaud medieval fortress. Light buffet dinner at Corinne's house. After dinner, you will transfer back to La Maison de Laroc.

Day 3, Tuesday

Today, after breakfast, you will transfer to Saint-Cybranet. Enjoy morning cooking class followed by lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Marqueysac manicured and romantic gardens. It features more than six kilometers of shaded paths bordered by 150,000 hand-pruned centennial boxwood trees, the whole garden is embellished with belvederes, waterways, rockeries, and grassy clearings.

You will get a panoramic view of the Dordogne Valley, castles, and villages from the 130-meters high belvedere. Free time will be given at the gardens for you to rest and relax. Another tour option on this day is a visit to Les Milandes, the chateau was Josephine Baker's residence. After the tour, you will transfer to La Maison de Laroc and have some time to rest before your dinner at a Michelin ranked restaurant nearby.

Day 4, Wednesday

On this day, you will have early breakfast and will transfer to Sarlat at 8:30 a.m. Enjoy a market tour and shopping with Corinne as well as some free time in Sarlat for shopping and visits. Sarlat-La-Canéda is the first town in Europe to feature numerous historic Renaissance-style buildings and it has a superb ambiance to it!

Afterwards, you will have one-hour cruise on the Dordogne river which includes a picnic lunch aboard. After your cruise, you will rest and relax before proceeding for you third cooking class in the afternoon. Your cooking class will be followed by a tasting dinner. After dinner, be transferred to La Maison de Laroc.

Day 5, Thursday

Today, you will have a full-day cultural tour. After breakfast, transfer to the Vézère Valley in the north of Dordogne county to visit Lascaux IV international cave art center. The valley has 147 prehistoric sites, 15 of which are on UNESCO's world heritage list. Lascaux original cave which was discovered in 1940 by Marcel Ravidat is closed to the public.

Lunch will be in a traditional ferme-auberge nearby Montignac. After lunch, you will transfer to Beynac. At the picturesque village, you may opt for a Walking tour, but be warned of the steep cobblestone streets and paths, or you can just relax at La Maison de Laroc. Light dinner will be at the guesthouse.

Day 6, Friday

After breakfast, you will transfer to Corinne's house. Your fourth cooking class will start at 9:30 a.m. followed by lunch. In the afternoon, you will have a visit to a geese farm followed by a walking tour to Domme picturesque village. Farewell dinner will be at a Michelin-star restaurant.

Day 7, Saturday

Today, after breakfast, you will check-out from the guesthouse. You will then be transferred to Bergerac airport which marks the end of your holiday.

Each day will offer a gourmet feast! Aside to cooking classes followed by a tasting lunch or dinner, you will experience the finest Perigourdine cuisine in traditional and Michelin-starred restaurants. You will go to a typical ferme-auberge, and to top-ranked restaurants including a starred one.

In addition to your cooking lessons, you will experience the food market tour guided by Corinne and visit local producers as well, including a goose and cheese farm, a walnut oil mill, and a winery. But the Perigord deserves much more!

You will be overwhelmed by the beauty of medieval and Renaissance-style villages and it yellow-stone houses and mansions. You will visit Sarlat, La Roque-Gageac, Beynac, Castelnaud-La-Chapelle lovely villages bordering the Dordogne river, and Marqueysac remarkable gardens. You will also enjoy the full-day excursion to Lascaux caves and Les Eyzies-de-Tayac prehistory Museum in the Vezere Valley. Tour is escorted in English by your local tour guide.
