You will be accommodated at a chic four-star boutique hotel and spa, Hostellerie Berard, in the quaint hilltop village of La Cadiere d'Azur. You can relax in your deluxe room with en-suite bathroom. Each room is furnished with stylish antiques and a king-size or two single beds. The rooms have a panoramic view on the vineyards and on Le Castellet Village further. Modern amenities include minibar, TV with international cable chains, safety lock, hairdryer, and bathrobe. All the rooms are air-conditioned. Enjoy free Wi-Fi access in the room.

Once a former cluster 200 years ago, Hostellerie and Spa Berard is the property of the same family since its opening. Madame Berard will be the person who welcomes you to the hotel. Her daughter, Sandra, will be happy to assist you with any requests. Her son, Jean-Francois, is the executive chef of the two restaurants. Her husband, René, runs cooking classes.

Learn and improve your skills in French cooking with Chef René Berard. His fabulous expertise and creative cuisine are tributes to the legendary flavors and fragrances of the Mediterranean and the Provence countryside produce. Depending on the season you decide to come here, you will prepare and cook different produce. Asparagus, artichokes, rhubarbs, cherries are popular in April and May.

In the summer, you are lucky! You will cook with berries, peaches, apricots, tomatoes, eggplants, zucchinis, and more. If you come in September, you will have the figs, grapes, and some summer vegetables and fruits. October is the beginning of autumn, bringing vegetable roots, mushrooms, plums, apples and pears, and many more. Fish cannot be any fresher than the fish market at Sanary's harbor. You can buy the exquisite lamb from Sisteron directly at the farm.

Provence is also famous for its honeybee farms, its goat cheese farms, and its olive oil mills! Aromatic herbs grow wild in Chef Berard's personal garden. One class will be held at La Villa des Dentelles, ran by Chef Marie, and coordinated in English by Corinne. The menu you will learn to cook includes organic produce and can be gluten-free if participants have allergies. Because being allergic to gluten is not a handicap! It will be an afternoon class, followed by food and wine pairing dinner.

Four morning cooking classes are included in your program. In the afternoon, you will meet local people through visits to the producers (winery, honeybee farm, and olive oil mill). During your morning classes, Monday through Thursday, you will learn how to compose, and to cook different menus celebrating the Provence and Mediterranean cuisine. You will review the basic methods under Chef Berard direction. Each class is followed by a delicious three-course lunch accompanied by wine.

Day 1 - Sunday

In the afternoon, check-in at the hotel. Enjoy welcome drink and welcome dinner at the Berard Michelin-starred restaurant (the wine is at extra cost). Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 - Monday

After your breakfast, head to Bastide des Saveurs Farmhouse and meet Chef René. You will get an apron, your chef hat with your name on it, and your recipes. Before entering the kitchen, you will explore the garden. You will smell and pick aromatic herbs, medical plants, vegetables, and fruits from the garden. Head back to the kitchen, where you will partake your first class celebrating the meat.

You will prepare a Provence stew, followed by a roast lamb or beef that you can taste afterwards. Get ready for an afternoon visit to a local producer. Today's meal plan excludes dinner. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 - Tuesday

After your early morning breakfast, you will go to Sanary-sur-Mer, a lovely village on the coast located 20 minutes from La Cadiere. Follow Chef René to the food market and meet the producers, the fishermen, and the smiling local people. After this fun shopping, head back to cooking school to prepare a delicious lunch with the freshest produce. Tasting lunch and relaxing time in the afternoon. Today's meal plan excludes dinner. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 - Wednesday

It is "vegetables day" in sunny Provence! Tasty, juicy, colorful, and flavorful vegetables are the best in the south of France. Listen and keep your chef's tips in mind. He will help you succeed in your recipes. It will be useful when you make these recipes at home. Enjoy lunch at the cooking school. Get ready for an afternoon visit to a local producer. Today's meal plan excludes dinner. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5 - Thursday

Your last class is geared toward working with pastry and desserts. You will learn how to prepare and bake a tart and a lava cake, which are known as the French classics. A three-course lunch will be served at La Bastide. Of course, you will enjoy the fruits of your labor at the end, as you will get your cooking certificate. Get ready for an afternoon visit to a local producer. Today's meal plan excludes dinner. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6 - Friday

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. This is the end of your culinary vacations. Check-out must be done not later than 11:00 a.m.

Welcome to La Bastide des Saveurs cooking school, a beautifully restored 19th century farmhouse located in the village of La Cadiere d'Azur. As the property of Berard family, this farmhouse is nestled in magnificent ornemental and kitchen gardens. The first room to be renovated was the kitchen, decorated in a pure traditional Provence style with its colorful yellow and brick colorful tiles, its Lacanche stoves and ovens, its wooden beams, and its fireplace.

Provence is well-known for its warm weather and you will have lunch on the patio, enjoying the scents of Provence. La Cadiere d'Azur is reputed for its exceptional lifestyle, good living, quality food, and fine wines.

During this trip, you will be served with daily meals as per itinerary.

Relaxation can be a part of your holiday! The AromaSpa Berard is designed like the Roman baths. Enjoy the baths, jacuzzi, and hammam. Take time to book a massage with organic essential oils. You can enjoy dinner at the hotel's restaurant. Your hotel has two restaurants. One is a Michelin-starred, and the other one is a casual traditional bistro, serving good and simple food.
