During this holiday, you will be staying in a four-star hotel or guesthouse with the options of private room, shared double room, and double room. Hotels and guest houses are centrally located in Paris safe quarters, steps to a metro station, casual restaurants, and fine grocery shops. Each one offers a high level of comfort and all modern amenities including Wi-Fi access.

Whether you choose a hotel or a guesthouse, you will get the comfort and all modern amenities. Guesthouses that have been chosen offer spacious rooms with en-suite bathroom, bath or walk-in shower and hairdryer. According to the French law, guesthouses are limited to five rooms and it is strongly recommended to secure your reservation at least four months in advance.

Program

Cooking class celebrating the French traditional cuisine

Welcome to the cooking and baking school located in Paris 17th, and join Lifestyle Vacations in the kitchen to experience the French traditional cuisine through a hands-on class celebrating the French traditional cuisine. You will learn how to prepare and to cook a well-balanced three-course menu from scratch, including a starter, a main course, and a dessert that you will enjoy afterwards.

You will improve your skills in peeling chopping, slicing, learn the right cooking methods, and prepare fresh produce only from the market. Menus change according to the season and it can include onion soup, duck breast in orange sauce, veal stew, boeuf bourguignon, chicken made-in-Normandy, rack of lamb topped with a herbs crust, sauteed scallops with leeks and Noilly-Prat sauce, Grand-Marnier soufflé, chocolate lava-cake and raspberry sauce, Profiteroles, raspberry and vanilla cream macaron, and more.

Cooking class is scheduled Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. It is taught in English, and is designed for small groups up to six people. Program ends around 2:30 p.m. after lunch.

Baking class celebrating the choux pastry

France is internationally known for its exquisite flavorful pastry and awesome presentation of desserts by the plate. This is the reason why a pastry and dessert class is included in this program. During your two hours hands-on lesson, you will learn the methods for succeeding in choux pastry, the basis for making eclairs, religieuses, Saint-Honoré, Paris-Brest, profiteroles, chouquettes, and more.

Same pastry can be used for savory bites filled with cheese cream, salmon cream, foie gras mousse, and more. It is a must when you organize an “Aperitif à la Française" at home! In your class you will make and bake eclairs or Paris-Brest. You will prepare the cream fillings and you will learn to decorate your pastry French-style. Pastry class is scheduled Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tasting accompanied by drinks follows the class.

Cultural and gourmet walking tours

Paris is a city to be visited by foot. Join Corinne and indulge in the city through a cultural tour, off-the-beaten paths. You will explore covered art galleries, cobble-stone streets, picturesque historic quarters of Saint-Germain, Le Marais, Ile Saint-Louis, Ile de la Cité, and more and also enjoy lunch in a traditional bistrot serving the authentic French cuisine. Cultural walking tour is guided in English. It's scheduled Saturday morning, starting at 10 a.m. for three hours.

Gourmet tour is scheduled Thursday morning, starting at 9 a.m. for three hours, and celebrating the "Tour de France" of food and wine. You will visit a marketplace, enjoy a coffee and croissant in a Parisian cafe, and explore top-ranked gourmet shops highlighting cheese, bread, patés, pastry and macarons, chocolate, and of course wine. For sure, the French food and wine won't have secrets for you after this tour, and you will get Corinne's recipes as well.

Daily schedule

Day 1, Wednesday

Check-in at your hotel or guesthouse after 2 p.m. In case of earlier arrival, please contact Lifestyle Vacations. Afterwards, you will have a relaxing time all to yourself. You will then meet Corinne Preteur at your hotel or guesthouse at 7 p.m. You will be welcomed with food and wine pairing dinner in a chic traditional restaurant. You will then be transferred to your hotel or guesthouse by car and stay overnight in your hotel or guesthouse.

Day 2, Thursday

In the morning, you will have your breakfast. You will then go on gourmet walking tour starting at 9 a.m., including the lunch break. Afternoon pastry and dessert class will start at 2:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. In the afternoon, you will have some free time. Dinner will be on your own tonight. You will stay overnight at the hotel or guesthouse.

Day 3, Friday

In the morning, you will have breakfast. Cooking class starts at 10:30 a.m. for three hours followed by tasting lunch accompanied by wine. You have the afternoon free for visits and shopping. Dinner will be on your own tonight. You will stay overnight at the hotel or guesthouse.

Day 4, Saturday

In the morning, you will have breakfast. Cultural walking tour starts at 10 a.m. for three hours including a two-course lunch break. You have the afternoon free for visiting and shopping. You will stay overnight at the hotel or guesthouse.

Day 5, Sunday

In the morning, you will have breakfast. Check-out is not later than 11:00 a.m. End of the tour.

Included excursions

On day two, you will go on a gourmet walking tour and on day four, you will go on a cultural walking tour. Both these tours are included in price and will be guided by Corinne Preteur personally.

Corinne Preteur
Corinne is a self-trained cook. Starting to cook since in her young age with her mother before learning methods with chefs and improving her skills with Michelin-star chefs in France and abroad. As a member of the French Library in Boston she has the chance to meet Julia Child. She also created food and wine festivals celebrating the French cuisine in Boston. Corinne has been running cooking and baking classes in France for 15 years.
