Les Pastras offers a unique Provencal adventure. Experience a traditional French olive harvest as it has been done for centuries, organically and by hand! Pick olives in the autumn sun while you learn everything you ever wanted to know about olive trees - pruning, planting, harvesting, making olive oil, and then enjoy a hearty Provencal aperitif - pâté, charcuterie, cheese, baguette, and more with Les Pastras red wine.
Accommodation is arranged at a bed and breakfast or hotel nearby.
Between 10:30 and 12:00, enjoy a walk through Les Pastras property and a tour of the fruit trees, vineyards, beehives, Provencal herbs, and truffle trees. Pick olives by hand in the autumn sun. Between 12:00 and 13:00, enjoy a hearty Provencal aperitif with all you care to drink of Les Pastras red wine, a sampling of the olive oil, truffle oil, and truffle salt.
The retreat takes place in the beautiful town of Cadenet, in Provence, the southern region of France.
Spend the afternoon mastering Provence's most popular pastime, the game of pétanque, also known as boules. You'll learn to shoot, score, and even cheat while overlooking one of Provence's most magnificent landscapes. And since no game of pétanque is complete without a drink in hand, the rosé and pastis will be flowing! The activity can be booked as an extra for 35 EUR per person for adults and 25 EUR for children under 16. It has a duration of two hours and it requires a minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 12.
First, you will be taught the rules of the game along with a brief history of the sport. Then, you'll learn how to handle the boule, throw, shoot, score, and master the fine art of disputing a point. You'll play a competitive game of pétanque (with a glass of rosé in your hand, of course!).Your hosts will also have some homemade Pastis for sampling.The winning team will be presented with a commemorative trophy during an apero with Pastis, rosé, and traditional Provencal snacks (anchoiade, tapenade, mushrooms, and others).
