Ana Garcia is one of the most vivacious traditional Mexican chefs and teachers in Mexico today. The inspiration for Chef Ana’s recipes and hospitality grow out of her long, rich family history in central and northern Mexico. She has taken this extensive knowledge and incorporated it into a culinary repertoire that includes traditional central and northern Mexican specialties, as well as nouvelle Mexican cuisine using traditional ingredients in new and gastronomically adventurous ways.

My week at La Bonita was a real delight. Ana was a great host and teacher. I definitely have learned lots of cooking skills, cooking a full meal for four days enabled you to really get into Mexican cooking, how to use the different chillis, improve cooking skills and generally learn how a good cook does it. The kitchen where you cooked had an amazing view over the town and hills. As a solo traveler, I was really welcomed into Ana's family, played board games with them, went to yoga and walked up to the pyramid. So a lot more than just cooking. I really recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing week learning a new cuisine. I am definitely interested in going again - perhaps to one of their weeks by the coast.
