"The Villa was even better than I imagined, it was even nicer than the pictures. We were a group of 11 adults, from 20 to 61 years old. We had so much room to relax. In the evenings we will gather in the huge kitchen and dining room to exchange our stories from our daily adventure. The Villa was very clean and the grounds impeccable."

"We have chosen to have a dinner on the day we arrived but did not expect such an amazing feast even though Giuseppe had let us chose our options from a diverse menu. The food was exquisite and well as the wine."

"We had also chosen to have breakfast everyday that was specially prepared for us every morning by Nonna Carla who amazed us with her home made jams and freshly baked croissants, a meal fit for a king."

"Our pizza class was so much fun and the recipe Nancy and Nonna Carla taught us was so easy to follow and the results were delicious, we had so much pizza and wine which was so much meaningful because we prepared ourselves (with help of course)."

"Our cooking class with Chef Barbara was so delightful, fun and the end results are out of this world. Chef Barbara was very patient and knowledgeable and impress us so much with her cooking skills ( we all cook in my family and love food and one of my sons went to culinary school so we have a great appreciation for this work). We were so impressed when the dishes kept on coming each one better than the last one, the presentation was extraordinary."

"The view of the sunset while having dinner was something not to be missed."

"Giuseppe was an amazing host from the day we arrived, my suitcases were coming on a later flight and the GPS stop working and Giuseppe was on the phone with me and helping me get to the Villa. My kids also called Giuseppe and he guided them from the train station to the Villa. We were so late for our first dinner and getting to the Villa and finally meeting Giuseppe was such a relief when I saw his welcoming smile and understanding."

"I would recommend staying at the Villa to everyone, it was pleasant, comfortable, clean and so relaxing, specially after walking the whole day the peaceful atmosphere made it all worth it. Try to get the meal plan, you will not be disappointed, we regret not having dinner at the villa every night."

"The supermarkets are very close, there is an agriturismo next door if you want to have a meal. The train station is 5 minutes driving distance. You will need a car."

"Thank you again Giuseppe for making us feel at home in your beautiful Villa."

"Imagine a beautiful villa surrounded by old olive trees extending up the surrounding hillsides; peach, cherry and fig orchards with gently rolling fields, warm breezes, and only the sounds you make. The pace is relaxed and easy, yet full of exciting adventures that are just plain fun. The cooking classes are interesting and memorable not only for what you learn and what you enjoy eating, but the camaraderie you develop with the chefs and the other guests. Imagine preparing crispy fried zucchini flowers and saltimbocca alla Romana with Chef Valeria, or Risotto al limone and fresh from scratch fettuccine al funghi porcini with Chef Barbara, in a kitchen surrounded by open sliding doors to bring the beautiful views right into the room, served on an open patio in the fresh Italian air, and paired with Italian wines. These are just a few of the many dishes and creations we experienced but hopefully you get the picture. The team of hosts and staff somehow make you feel like you have joined their family with traditions and culture that have continued from ancient Rome. Thank you Mike, Giuseppe, Francesca, Carla and Nikko. You create a world class destination in an unforgettable setting."

"We stayed at the beautiful La Tartaruga Sabina for our annual family holiday and it was fabulous. We were three generations of one family and there was something for everyone. It has a large pool, stunning surroundings, comfortable welcoming accommodations, and it is close enough to Rome and the surrounding villages to enjoy the local culture when the children could be dragged away from the pool! Giuseppe was terrific to deal with from the first request for information right through to the end of the trip. We have stayed in many villas over the years and this ranks among the best. Thank you Giuseppe. We miss La Tartaruga Sabina!"

"The house and grounds are a wonderful homage to Frank Lloyd Wright with an Italian flair. The facility accommodated 12 people perfectly, with each bedroom as a suite. The country side views are relaxing and beautiful. The owner couldn't be any more helpful and the wait staff warm and friendly. You can't go wrong!"

"Twelve of my immediate and extended family members stayed in this fabulous villa for five unforgettable days in September. From our first night at the villa, where we were served a five-star meal from Karla and Roberta, to the last night, where Giuseppe arranged for our dinner at a local trattoria, everything was perfect. The living area downstairs was beautifully spacious and welcoming and our family enjoyed every evening in great fun and harmony. Having the wine cellar available certainly came in handy. The villa is located close to the major highways so we were able to travel extensively and still make it back in the evening for a great night. The staff at La Tartaruga Sabina were outstanding. On the first morning at the villa, I was a bit confused on directions to the nearest gas station and Nikko jumped right in the car with me and guided me right to it. Giuseppe recommended our guide for a full day in Rome, and Gastone was the perfect choice. His knowledge of architecture and history made the trip through the ancient ruins of Rome incredibly rewarding. The villa, the area, the people all combined to make this vacation one of the best of my life. I cannot recommend this beautiful villa enough."

"This was an experience of a lifetime. We laughed, made new friends and experienced Italys off the beaten path like a local but with fine appointments and attention to detail on every event planned. Dining in castles and roof-top exclusive homes, as well as hands-on learning of easy to understand cooking lessons and recipes made this trip worthwhile. And then there was the extra benefit of eating the amazingly delicious fine food we made along with lots of wonderful wines and regional olive oils. The resort is kept meticulously clean, the rooms are perfectly appointed, and the owners and entire team make you feel like family! It was fantastico!"

  • "From the moment we arrived at the airport, we were enveloped, by Mike and Giuseppe, in the warmth and beauty that is Cucina Sabina. Luscious olive trees and vineyards surrounded by massive Cyprus trees on sunlit green hills awaited us. The villa and grounds with outdoor dining, manicured lawns, views in every direction, and crystal clear pool were heavenly. Each couple had a private suite and bathroom with the most comfortable beds I have ever felt in my life. Every meal is shared with all guests and right away, my partner and I, both women, felt right at home! We actually made lasting friendships with the other couples attending that week! I was apprehensive as I've always preferred hot dogs and baked beans to actual cooking. However, I was the first of our group to actually try some of the wonderful recipes and techniques we learned when we got back home to Portland, Oregon. I found the excursions to castles, gardens, vineyards, and the city of Rome just fantastic! We met so many people, went to places too fantastic to put into words and came home refreshed and filled with gratitude for such a wonderful week. Cucina Sabina is not your ordinary cooking school; it is an adventure of a lifetime!"

"My husband and I celebrated the first week of our Honeymoon at La Cucina Sabina; the cooking school hosted at Villa La Tartaruga Sabina. We were very pleased by our newly renovated room and bathroom, as well as the very expansive living areas and amazing new kitchen! We thoroughly enjoyed the pleasant staff, learning how to make all of the delicious food, and getting to eat everything we made! The tours each day made us feel pampered as we were able to see things typical tourists may never get to see including a private tour of a thousand year old olive grove, a private castle, many beautiful churches, Rome! "

"Our favorite tour was a private home located in the center of Rome where we enjoyed cocktails and dinner on the rooftop overlooking the city. Our favorite meals were the Veal Saltimbocca and the fresh pizza made in the outdoor pizza oven. "

"When we arrived we were greeted by the staff and introduced to the other guests attending the school. At the end of the week we ended up exchanging our contact information with everyone at the school as the people we met and connections we made that week were truly remarkable. My husband and I highly recommend La Cucina Sabina to any couple or group looking to get away and be pampered (and very well fed). This was truly a VIP experience."

"Also, don't miss the opportunity to purchase the olive oils and wines sold in the shop at the villa as they were wonderful. "

"Three years ago, we planned a family vacation so four generations could spend time together while experiencing Italy. We chose Villa La Tartaruga Sabina for a one week stay for 15 of us. It served as our home base for daily explorations of Rome. The facility was very well suited to our needs. Rome was a short train ride away and interesting villages were easily accessible by car. The dining room was large enough so we ate meals together, and the outdoor pizza oven provided the favorite food for hungry teenagers. Individual rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. This is a top notch facility. However, the most pleasurable attribute of our stay was our dealings with the owner, Giuseppe. He was gracious and very helpful. He shared his local knowledge and even went out of his way to make reservations for us to see some local attractions not always available to tourists. He was so friendly, we felt compelled to invite him to visit us if he plans a return visit to the United States. (He lived and worked in New York for a number of years... that's why his English is so good)."
