Through her lessons, you will learn the secrets for the preparation of typical southern Italian and Sorrento dishes such as, gnocchi, stuffed Napoletan style squid and artichokes. La Cucina del Gusto Italian cooking school is situated in one of the most romantic place in the world: Sorrento. This magnificent region of the south of Italy is particularly celebrated because of its mild, sunny climate, the quality and flavors of its natural products and the beautiful views.
Sorrento is located on the side of the Gulf of Naples, few miles away from the ancient Romans ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the enchanting island of Capri with the famous Blue Grotto and the majesty of Mount Vesuvius.
On the other side, on the Gulf of Salerno you will visit the divine Amalfi Coast which is celebrated all over the world as a romantic and peaceful place. It offers to travelers a full immersion into the Italian lifestyle.
The first pearl of the Amalfi Coast is the picturesque village of Positano, then Praiano and Ravello famous for its magical landscapes and finally Amalfi, included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Your cooking classes will be held in the large kitchen specially designed to make your holiday a perfect culinary delight. Each cooking course lasts approximately 2 hours and is followed by either lunch or dinner based on the lessons subject.
During this package you will be able to enjoy 5 dinners and 2 lunches from a 2-Michelin-star restaurant to pizza dinner with chef Carmen. She has carefully designed a series of cookery holidays and food experiences to meet the needs of people coming to Italy to enjoy its food and wine and learn how to cook.
All the lessons are specially designed to assist you to quickly and easily learn the secrets of the various dishes, including the secrets for preparing an authentic Neapolitan specialties so that, once back home, you will be able to easily repeat the preparation of the dish and provide an amazing dinner that will astound your friends.
All the dishes are made only with the freshest of ingredients and follow typical recipes that have been handed down for many generations. Generally, menus are composed of: antipasto, fresh pasta, fish or meat second course and dessert. Meals are accompanied by suitable wines and mineral water.
On day 6 you may take an optional tour to Pompeii, a vast archaeological site in southern Italys Campania region. Once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried in meters of ash and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Monte Vesuvius in 79 C.E. Transportation will be on your own.
