Have you ever wondered of what exactly the dishes Kleftiko, Gyros, and Souvlaki Meze are made of, or better yet, would you like to learn how you can make these delicious dishes yourself? In that case, this workshop is for you. In a friendly and informal atmosphere you learn to prepare these dishes yourself in the traditional Greek way. Afterwards, you will enjoy the homemade dishes in a cozy Odyssey’s Corner Bistro together with your family or friends.
The Odyssey Complex is located near a beautiful bay on the green island of Poros. You immediately feel the special attention for detail, the respect for the environment and love for tradition that the apartments and complex exhale. The complex has its own bistro serving breakfast, lunch and dinner is served for guests of the apartments as well as for visitors passing by.
The complex consists of 11 apartments in 3 different flavors: deluxe, superior (2 rooms) and standard (1 room). All types of apartments are equipped with TV, air-conditioning, a safe, a small kitchen and all have a private entrance. Both the deluxe and the superior type apartments feature a balcony with sea view, a shower, and toilet on each floor. Both standard apartments have a small patio and the inside space is approximately 35 square meters including the shower and the toilet.
This suite is a rather large furnished maisonette style and consist of actually 2 rooms, one on the ground floor and another one on the first floor. The suites have a comfortable size, and are suited for typically 4 and maximum 5 persons. Each suite has its own entrance and is named after one of the adventures of Odyssey while sailing to Ithaka. The suites have air-conditioning on the top floor and a ceiling fan on the ground floor. Both lower and upper floors possess a sea-view balcony with table and chairs. Each suite has a TV, a safe and a bathroom on each floor, one has a bath tub and the other has a shower, both have a toilet included. A baby cot is available and can be placed in any room.
The standard suites are situated on the ground floor. They are spacious, for 2-5 persons; 2 adults and 3 children, 2 couples or 4 friends. This type of suite is however not suitable for 5 adults. It features 1 double bed, 1 single bed, and 1 folding bed for 2 persons. Each standard suite has air conditioning, a bathroom with shower, a small patio with table and chairs, a TV, and a kitchenette with fridge. These apartments are ideal for those who prefer to avoid stairs or for families with children under 5 year.

This afternoon is kept free so that you can explore the area around Askeli, you can relax by taking a refreshing swim in the clear blue sea or a nearby pool.
In the evening, Katerina will introduce you to a number of dishes you will learn to cook during your cooking holiday.
Dinner is served in the bistro, Odyssey's Corner.
After an early breakfast, you will walk to the fish market at the port of Poros. There, you can choose from an extensive range of fresh fish and other local ingredients. If the choice has been determined, you will take a break in one of the cozy terraces for a coffee and a snack. After having lunch in Odyssey, you can take a wonderful time for siesta. The second cooking class begins in the afternoon with you while enjoying a drink to get started with the fish and other ingredients you this morning on the market selected. Each type of fish has its own method of preparation. The fish can be grilled on the barbecue, then served with some freshly prepared Greek salads, fish sauces, roasted vegetables, and some spicy dressings. There are also great recipes for cooking in the oven or fried in olive oil from their own olive grove.
Today is devoted to a visit to the car-free island of Hydra, neighboring island of the Saronic Golf with a picturesque harbor-town. Hydra has a rich history and there are many sights and small churches. The narrow streets are full of small artistic shops. You will have lunch together at a cozy terrace. On return to Poros, dinner will be served at Odyssey or you can go to a local tavern to eat.
This is a day that you can devote entirely to yourself. You can explore the island itself, or perhaps the mainland - the Peloponnese. But just relax on the beach or by the pool, it is also possible. There is plenty of choice in excursions and activities and you can receive advice on the possibilities. Lunch will be served around 13:00 at Odyssey and dinner at around 20:00.
After breakfast, you will visit Katerina's Kouzina's own lemon and olive grove to learn a bit more about the use of these ingredients in Greek cuisine. In this orchard, lunch is served picnic-style. After returning to Odyssey, you will begin your third cooking class in the afternoon: a traditional Greek meal which can be enjoyed under a balmy summer night sky in a lovely and relaxed atmosphere.
Depending on the season, you will visit a number of locations to learn some more about the importance of seasonal ingredients in Greek cuisine, such as picking of indigenous vegetables and herbs. Lunch or a picnic will be at Odyssey. Tonight is the last and most special cooking class, and the preparation of this dinner promises an authentic Greek experience with several surprises.
After your delicious breakfast, this "working" holiday is already over.
This holiday will take place at Odyssey Activity Centre, located on the island of Poros, Greece. Poros possesses a typical island city center: narrow walk-throughs, whitewashed stairs everywhere, no house that is equal to another and friendly people everywhere. The ruins of a windmill is a popular destination for visitors as well as the clock tower where many people make it a sport to discover the the road towards the tower through the narrow streets of Poros.
In the city center, located in the main square, you’ll find the church of Saint Georgios, where several traditional style shops sell their products, such as bags and fabrics woven on a traditional loom at Ergani. If you have a chance, it is certainly advisable to discover yourself the narrow and charming streets of Poros. The machine shop of the brothers Pavlou on the main square is also worth a visit. You will not get lost, that is sure, however sometimes you might get a brief feeling of disorientation.
The Greek cuisine and the Mediterranean diet are among the healthiest in the world. Katerina's Kouzina hopes that what you learn during these cooking classes, will be useful in the future enhancing your skills in preparing new, delicious, and healthy dishes for all your friends and the moment you get home. Odyssey’s Corner is the name of the small bistro next to the main entrance of the complex. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here by an enthusiastic staff. The Bistro is known for its homemade cakes and pies but also to the special courses outside the normal menu. And lets not forget the special Greek dishes made from time to time by the cooks that follow the workshops Greek cooking at Odyssey.
The nearest airport to the location is Athens International Airport (ATH). Katerina's Kouzina will pick you up from the airport. The pick-up is included in the price.
