San Francisco-based PBS celebrity chef, award-winning cookbook author, and international cooking teacher Joanne Weir leads week-long culinary journeys to Tuscany, the Veneto, and the Piedmont regions of Italy, to Provence, Thailand, Australia, Spain, Napa Valley, and many more exciting food and wine destinations around the world. I went on the tour of the Veneto region and it was amazing! We stayed at a villa owned by the direct descendant of Dante.We had all hands-on cooking classes in the professional kitchen at the villa, and then went to private wine tastings, visited a coffee roastery and rice fields / mill where they grow the rice for risotto (and ate a 10-course risotto meal at the restaurant), went on historical tours of Verona and Venice. We shopped the famous Rialto fish market in Venice, and went on a tour of the bacari- local bars that offer tapas, and toured the Grand Canal by private boat. We had an amazing wine lunch at the home of an incredible winemaker (Carlo Nerozzi) - sitting overlooking his vineyards. This was such an amazing trip!
