Itinerary

Day 1: Rome

After your arrival at Rome airport, transfer to your hotel in Rome. Check in and relax at the hotel. In the afternoon, your guide will take you on a half-day food and wine tasting tour that includes sightseeing of the city at night.

You will visit the Jewish Ghetto, the theater of Marcellus, the Portico of Octavia, the Synagogue, and try fried zucchini flowers, artichokes, baccalà, tagliolini cacio e pepe. You will taste as well buffalo ricottas and mozzarella, the original pizza margherita, and reach Campo de’ Fiori. Overnight in Rome.

Day 2: Rome Castelli Romani

This morning, your private driver will take you to the Castelli Romani area to taste the typical Roman dishes. You will have lunch in a characteristic farm house, taste typical products, and drink local wine. Continue visiting Castel Gandolfo (summer residence of the Pope). Transfer back to your hotel in Rome.

Day 3: Perugia

Transfer to Perugia. Visit the historical center that is one of the largest and most varied in Italy. After a lunch break, you will visit a local chocolate factory for a guided tour of the facility and a chance to taste the chocolate. See the production of the historic Bacio Perugina and then visit the factory’s historical museum. Overnight in Perugia.

Day 4: Montalcino

Enjoy a wonderful day exploring the Brunello wine region in a guided private tour. You will visit the winery’s grounds and most importantly, the historic cellars. Enjoy lunch in a typical Tuscan restaurant and then have time to explore the town’s narrow winding streets filled with artisan food and wine shops. In the afternoon, transfer to Siena. Enjoy a guided walking tour, visiting the main sites of this medieval city. Overnight in Siena.

Day 5: Florence

After breakfast, your private driver will lead you to Florence. Enjoy a tour of the city that includes: visit of the Duomo and the Baptistry, the Piazza della Signoria, the Ponte Vecchio, and the celebrated Accademia Gallery. In the afternoon, enjoy a gelato tour. Overnight in Florence.

Day 6: Florence - Parma - Modena

Leave Florence to start a gastronomic tour in Emilia Romagna. Your first stop will be for a visit at a fine Parmigiano Reggiano producer in the Parma area. You will continue around Modena, the town of aceto balsamico.

After visiting an acetaia (balsamic vinegar maker) and tasting the delicious, sweet, and tangy flavors, you will enjoy a delicious meal in a traditional trattoria. Your tour continues with a visit to the town of Modena for a stroll and coffee in the thriving old city center. Overnight in Bologna.

Day 7: Verona - Lake Garda

Transfer to Verona. Meet your private guide and start your tour visiting all Verona main sights: the Arena (Roman amphitheater), Juliet’s house, Romeo’s house, the Roman bridge, the Roman theater, and much more. Enjoy a pasta making cooking class.

In the afternoon, the guided tour will continue into the exploration of olive production around lake Garda. Gourmet dinner at Garda Lake, consisting of a gourmet fish menu. Overnight in Sirmione.

Day 8: Alba

After breakfast, you will reach Alba in Piedmont, an area completely surrounded by vineyards and woods. Here with the truffle hunter and his truffle hunting dog, you will enjoy a unique experience discovering the world of truffles. Finish with a truffle tasting. Free time at your leisure. Overnight in Alba.

Day 9: Asti

Your private guide and English-speaking driver will collect you at your hotel and you will spend the day discovering the Barbaresco and Barolo wine region. Enjoy a visit to two top rated Barbaresco wineries. In the afternoon, you will visit two incredible Barolo wineries, and tour the cantina and aging rooms. Transfer back to your hotel in Alba.

Day 10: Departure

Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight home.
