Italian Delights Culinary Vacations in Italy Itinerary

Day 1 - Wednesday - Welcome to Barolo!

  • Pick up at the airport.
  • Trip towards Langhe.
  • You will be having an aperitif on the beautiful terrasse of Agricola Marrone cellar, sampling their wines along with some small appetizers.
  • Welcome dinner will be in the beautiful landscape of Diano dAlba.

Day 2 - Thursday - Cooking class - WiMu, Barolo

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Cooking class resulting in lunch at the Marrone winery.
  • During lunch today you will have a brief wine class which will prepare you for all of the wines we will be experiencing throughout the week.
  • If the weather conditions will be good, the wine class will take place on the beautiful panoramic terrasse.
  • You will make your way to the village of Barolo where you will have a visit to the Wimu, wine museum, inside the Barolo castle.
  • Short walk around in Barolo.
  • Time to rest at home.
  • Aperitif on the hotels terrasse.
  • Dinner at a familiar trattoria since generations.

Day 3 - Friday - Torino

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • You will visit the historical center of the town and have the traditional Piedmontese breakfast, the bicerin.
  • Lunch in the oldest chocolate gianduja producer, Baratti & Milano, with tasting of 5 different kinds of chocolate.
  • Free time for a walk and some shopping or a guided tour up to the Mole Antonelliana tower.
  • Time to rest before dinner.
  • Tonight's dinner will be pizza dinner! If you want, after dinner you can walk up the hill till the hotel in a couple of kilometers walk.

Day 4 - Saturday - Alba market, walk in the vineyards in Perno, truffle hunt

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Guided visit of Alba and free time for shopping in the beautiful historical center during the weekly market day.
  • Lunch in a trattoria in the center.
  • In the afternoon you'll experience real farm life. You'll walk in the vineyards and have snacks and good wine outdoor as a country picnic.
  • Early dinner at Agricola Marrone.
  • After dinner you will accompany Gianni Monchiero, a fourth generation truffle hunter, on a nighttime truffle hunt and midnight snack.

Day 5 - Sunday - Goodbye

  • Breakfast at the hotel Casa Pavesi. We depart for Malpensa airport.

When the grape skins have given color and essences to the wine that is the moment to turn them into grappa, the traditional spirit to finish a Piedmontese meal. Take a guided visit of a distillery with final tasting.

A river, one hundred towers and two cathedrals

So close, so far for Alba and Asti: the same river Tanaro, a similar history and a rivalry from Middle Ages. A guided tour of Alba and/or Asti lets you discover their wonderful old town centers, among towers, buildings, baptisteries and cathedrals.

Fresh, warm relax

A day in one of the thermal spas of Acqui Terme, known from the Romans, or in Vinadio, among the mountains of the enchanting Stura valley.
