Day 1, Sunday - Naples to Sorrento

Arrival at Naples International Airport (NAP) or train station and transfer to your accommodation in Sorrento. The day is at your leisure for relaxing in the garden or by the pool, perhaps with a glass of wine, or for taking a walk to explore this lovely area. When you will arrive in the hotel, proceed and check in. In the evening, you can have a dinner in the hotel.

Day 2, Monday - Hands-on pastry making course

After breakfast at the hotel, you will go to the villa for the cooking school where the chef will give you an overview of the weeks itinerary during a welcome meeting.

Your first hands-on cooking class starts with a basic pastry course consisting of croissants, puff pastry, brioche, and short-crust pastry, with various types of creams. You will also explore traditional Neapolitan sweets such as pastiera, sfogliatella, and bab . Each student will have a hands-on cooking station where you will be elbow-deep in dough, sugar, and cream!

The chef will provide individualized instruction to aid in mastering the techniques and tricks of producing these classics sweets at home. Of course, you will sample your creations as they come fresh from the oven, and these amazing desserts will also be the crowning glory at lunch. If you are still hungry, lunch will follow the class and it will consist of homemade pasta and a main course, and you can decide together with the chef what you want for lunch. This afternoon is on your own so that you can enjoy Sorrento or just relax. Dinner will be at one restaurant in Sorrento.

Day 3, Tuesday - Traditional fresh, handmade pasta class

After breakfast at the hotel, participate in your second hands-on cooking class, which features a variety of handmade pastas. After you have mastered the skill of fresh pasta making, you will try your hand at the stuffing process: ravioli, lasagna, and cannelloni, each stuffed with a selection of local fresh produce and meats, and of course with sauces to enhance them. Already your skill level will have grown to the point that you will think you have been making homemade pasta all your life, and you will be ready to impress your family and friends when you return home. The pasta will be paired with wonderful combinations of fresh produce, cheese, and meats from the Campania region.

Lunch will follow based on your efforts. The afternoon is free to explore the lovely area, take a walk, use the swimming pool, or simply relax in the garden. This evening, depart around 18:00 for a special excursion to Positano. Stop to admire the breathtaking views from a terrace overlooking Positano, and then proceed on to the heart of this famous town, with time to visit the churches and shops, or to have a glass of wine by the sea. Later on, have dinner on the beach, where you will enjoy typical dishes of the area. Depart around 23:00 to return to the hotel.

Day 4, Wednesday - Amalfi Coast cooking and pastry course

After breakfast, you will have a discussion of todays full immersion cooking course, from appetizer to dessert. Next, its off to the kitchen where the chef will teach you many skills today, including how to choose and filet fresh fish. You will prepare a full meal, including appetizer, fresh homemade pasta, delicious main courses, and traditional desserts of the Amalfi Coast. After the course, enjoy a wonderful lunch together, all made perfect by the accompanying local wines and amazing view!

In the afternoon, relax or take a tour to the charming local area with visits of the citrus grove, winery, and olive oil mill. The tour will be led by a member of the Persico family, which for generations has been a guardian of the traditions of the Sorrentine Peninsula. Return to Sorrento hills for a visit of their farmhouse plus a typical dinner with local products, including organic produce from the farmhouse's garden, as well as some of mamma Luisas limoncello digestivo. After dinner, transfer back to the hotel, and off to bed or you can enjoy the Sorrento night life.

Day 5, Thursday - Explore Napoli

Follow in the footsteps of Julia Roberts along streets of bars and baroque churches. Enjoy a pizza in a famous restaurant, before returning to Sorrento. Following a pick-up from your hotel in Sorrento, drive from Sorrentine Peninsula to the Bay of Naples. Upon arrival, take a tour of the historic center of Naples, including Piazza del Gesu to see the Baroque church of Gesu Nuovo and the romantic church of Santa Chiara. Discover hidden treasures on secret corners and famous squares.

Marvel at Raimondos Veiled Christ (Il Christo Velato) sculpture, before going to the Basilica San Lorenzo Maggiore above the old Roman market. Stroll over to the church and monastery of San Gregorio Armeno just south of the Via dei Tribunali to see fountains adorned with dolphins and other sea creatures. Close by is the cobblestone alley of Via San Gregorio Armeno, where Christmas lasts all year round in the artisan workshops of Christmas Alley.

Stop for a pizza lunch at a famous restaurant. Then, spend the afternoon strolling around the monumental square of Piazza del Pleibescito. Enjoy some free time to admire the Royal Palace, San Carlo Opera, Galleria Umberto I, Via Toledo, and Piazza Trento e Trieste at leisure. Enjoy an afternoon snack of sfogliatella, a typical cake from Naples, served with coffee in the most popular bar in Napoli, Bar Gambrinus. Transfer back to Naples in the late afternoon for a drop off at your hotel; relax and have dinner in another restaurant.

Day 6, Friday - Amalfi Coast and Sorrentine Peninsula tour

After breakfast, depart around 09:30 for a full-day tour of the Amalfi Coast and Sorrentine Peninsula. You will return in the evening and the driver is always open to changes or suggestions such as stopping for lunch or dinner, stopping to swim or snorkel on the beach. The Amalfi Coast and Sorrentine Peninsula are among the most beautiful areas in Italy, and you will explore them both with a small group guided tour (maximum 18 people). The breathtaking, beautiful, sea-to-mountain views of the Amalfi Coast will lie before your lunch (a packed lunch will be offer to you). The Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO world heritage site for the uniqueness of its natural landscape and its undisputed beauty.

Here, you find Homers Land of the Sirens, along this narrow stretch of road ripped from the bare rock. It will provide memories you will never forget and an urgency to return as soon as possible. Some of the sites you will see are the famous town of Amalfi with its history and beautiful cathedral, Ravello, perched high above the sea, home to the beautiful Villa Rufolo gardens and amazing views of the coast, and of course Positano, a postcard-worthy seaside village dangling from the cliffs of the Mediterranean Sea.

Great shopping awaits you, including traditional handmade local linens, moda Positano sandals, jewelry, and ceramics. You can skip the shopping session and stroll along bougainvillea-covered walkways to the lovely Church of the Assumption, or to the sea for a scenic view of the Li Galli Islands. Back at the hotel, take some time to relax before having dinner in a different restaurant.

Day 7, Saturday - Capri Island and Sorrento coastline by boat

After breakfast, depart around 09:30 for Capri. This luxuriant, extraordinary island is a Mediterranean gem, enjoying the temperate climate that has made it a mecca for intellectuals, artists, writers, and of course tourists enthralled by its beauty. Capri is a perfect mix of history, modern life, nature, culture, and spectacle. You will take a small boat to Capri (maximum 12 people), enjoying views of the coastline and time to stop for swimming and snorkeling. There will be snacks, beverages, snorkeling equipment, and lifejackets on board. When you arrive, take a scenic trip around the limestone island, with stops at the White, Green, and / or Blue Grottos (if the sea permits).

Then, disembark, with free time to explore the island and shop, or enjoy a walk around this magical place. A sack lunch will be provided for a picnic at your leisure, but should you want a heartier meal, there are many restaurants on the island you can enjoy on your own. Return by boat to the Piano di Sorrento port in time for happy hour, featuring a limoncello tasting, and then, transfer back to the hotel around 18:30 or 19:00. "Me and my husband last week had one of the best experience of cooking class. We have arrived at the villa at 09:30. The villa is incredible - so luxurious and in the heart of Sorrento near Tasso Squere, where the view on the Sorrento Coast is amazing... On a spectacular terrace, we started the day with a wonderful breakfast cappuccino, croissants, little pastries, juices, and others. The Chef came and start to explain to us the menu of the day. We did all preparation of the food like a professional chef; then, in the end, we cooked dish by dish. After all, we had lunch together on the terrace overlooking the sea. We did many cooking courses in our life, but this one been one of the best. Thanks for all to Chef Salvatore and all the staff. We will come back next year."

"What a gorgeous week in Sorrento organised by Chef Giuseppe of Italian Chef Consulting. It was a spur of the moment decision to go to Italy made almost impossible by the fact that it was high season and very busy. Chef Giuseppe went beyond the call of duty to accommodate me and managed to find a lovely place to stay. I chose a combination holiday filled with three days of cooking and quite a few excursions in and around the Amalfi Coast. The cooking classes were held in an exclusive villa in the heart of Sorrento overlooking the sea. The views were spectacular, the setting - magical. All of the produce we cooked with was fresh and organic. We learned how to prepare and cook something new everyday - pasta, fish, pastry - and more importantly, we enjoyed an exquisite lunch with wine at the end of each session. It is a small, intimate class which I enjoyed as it was more hands-on. The whole tour was incredibly well organised. Drivers were always on time. Everyone couldn't have been more hospitable. The Amalfi Coast is spectacular! All in all, I am so pleased to have been able to experience Italy at its best with simply divine food and the company of the charming chefs! Highly recommend!"

"Just returned from a gorgeous week in Sorrento organised by chef Giuseppe of Italian Chef Consulting and Jo-Anne from Active Gourmet Holidays. It was a spur of the moment decision to go to Italy made almost impossible by the fact that it is high season and very busy. Chef Giuseppe went beyond the call of duty to accommodate me and managed to find a lovely place to stay. I chose a combination holiday filled with 3 days of cooking and quite a few excursions in and around the Amalfi Coast. The cooking classes were held in a divine little family run Agriturisimo high in the hills over-looking Sorrento. The views were spectacular, the setting magical. All of the produce we cooked with was freshly picked from the beautiful garden on the property. We learned how to prepare and cook something new everyday; pasta, fish, pastry, and more importantly enjoyed an exquisite lunch with wine from the family vineyard at the end of each session. It is a small, intimate class which I enjoyed as it was more hands-on.Chef Giuseppe speaks English, Salvatore not as much! I found it much more authentic though, and to make things easier they employ the beautiful Lina to translate everything. The whole tour was incredibly organised. Drivers were always on time. Everyone couldn't have been more hospitable. The Amalfi Coast is spectacular!! All in all, I am so pleased to have been able to experience Italy at its best with simply divine food and the company of the two charming chefs. Highly recommend!"

"I highly recommend the 8-day trip. It's the perfect way to see the area, and learn some really fantastic cooking. I had a small group, just myself and two others. We had a smashing good time. It was split into two different parts: cooking and exploring. And both were great fun. The cooking classes were fun, and very informational. We covered quite a variety of desserts and pastas with expert chef Salvatore, and on the final day of cooking we made a wonderful multi-course meal under the guidance of both chefs. And, since Salvatore doesn't speak English fluently, there was a translator (Lina) who was great in helping explain the dishes and techniques with the chef. My favorite part of the experience was the farmhouse. One two of the days we explored the large organic gardens before our classes to gather ingredients for our meals. The hospitality of the family at the Antico Casale Agriturismo is unmatched. They were incredibly welcoming, and it was such a pleasure to receive a tour of their citrus orchards and farm. Then, on our exploration days we toured Positano, Amalfi, Sorrento, and the surrounding areas via a small tour bus group of 12-15 people. We also received a private tour of Pompeii, and a great visit to the Sorrentino vineyards on the foot of Mount Versuvio. Then, the last day we took a boat trip with 12 others to Capri, for a day of sun, swimming and exploring. This isn't a trip for people want to sit at the pool and read a book for the whole week . It's a packed itinerary! But, you really get to see the area, and get a great taste of life in the area. You definitely get your money's worth! You have private car transport to-and-from most places (except for the bus excursions), and Italian Chef Consulting takes excellent care of their guests. I highly recommend this trip to anyone. Take the leap - you won't regret it!"

"Our group of 3 adults spent the day with chef Giuseppe and pastry chef Salvatore and what great fun we had. We prepared a great 4-course meal, including an antipasto dish, homemade pasta, main course fish and a delectable lemon cake. These two very professional chefs showed us how to prepare fish, cut vegetables, create the right size pieces of pasta , and much much more! If you are looking for a truly authentic cooking experience, I enthusiastically recommended Italian Chef Consulting! And, their location at a farmhouse in Sorrento makes it even more attractive!"
