How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA). The NW Explorer with Rail and the NW Wine and Rail Tour groups meet at the Seattle King Street (Amtrak) Station at 3:30 p.m. The NW Wine Explorer will also leave from this location, at 9:00 a.m.

Unless the flights arrive before 10:30 a.m, InquisiTours suggests that you arrive the day before and staying at an airport hotel as the downtown Seattle hotels are extremely expensive. Otherwise, uncertainty with timing in Customs, luggage, flight delays, etc may jeopardize missing the train and it is always nice having a night to relax and ease in to a new timezone.

From the airport, one can take a taxi (around 60 to 80 USD), Uber (30 to 40 USD) or the Light Rail to the International District/Chinatown stop (5 USD) - InquisiTours recommends the light rail not only for the cost but for the ability to see various neighborhoods on the way up and it runs every 10-15 minutes. Also, it's a nice way to get in and explore the city if arriving the day before.

Most airport hotels have a complimentary shuttle to/from the airport.

Upon drop off, InquisiTours will come back to the Seattle King Street Station. Depending on the tour, it will be between 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., so either a late (red-eye) flight recommended or another night stay before booking a flight.

Some people also find flying in or out of Portland International Airport (PDX) is a nice option. Seattle is a three-hour bus or train ride away.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 14% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
