This marvelous food holiday allows guests to graciously combine three of the gourmet Malaysian destinations: Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Langkawi. Each destination offers visitors a very different experience, from the Orient inspired Chinatown of Kuala Lumpur to the Indian infused flavors of Penang, and the traditional Malay tastes of Langkawi. Guests will visit some of the region’s most fascinating restaurants and participate in some unforgettable cooking classes on this magical adventure. Each day will be about variety and making new discoveries of the Malay food and culture.

Bayview Beach Resort Penang hotel, a member of Bayview International Hotels and Resorts, is located on the beachfront on the northwest coast of Penang Island. The resort overlooks the tranquil and scenic bay of the "Foreigner's Rock" or Batu Ferringhi. It is 18 kilometers or 20 minutes from Georgetown and 33 kilometers or 45 minutes from Penang International Airport (PEN). Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL), you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to spend at leisure. At 18:00 visit Chinatown, a bustling place with shops and stalls selling clothes, shoes, watches, and all sorts of food. Haggling is a cardinal rule here and the place is usually crowded with locals as well as with tourists. Stroll along the stalls and restaurants and enjoy the sights and smells of this oriental experience. Tonight enjoy dinner at the Old China Café, a quaint restaurant offering Peranakan cuisine, a mix of Chinese-Malay influence. As you walk into the dinning lobby, decorated with antique decorations and ornaments, you will be transported to the early 1900s in Malaya. You will spend the night in Kuala Lumpur. Dinner is included.
After breakfast, today you will be picked up from your hotel for a cooking class. Learn the art of Chinese cooking from a renowned chef. Non-alcoholic welcome drinks will be provided as well as a souvenir certificate. At 18:00, visit the Central Market, formerly a produce market and now a popular center well known for its handicrafts, antiques, and art; this is a great place to pick up some local souvenirs. Your next stop is Little India; you will be dazzled by the range of spices on offer in the little spice shops. Enjoy dinner at Coliseum Café, which was established in the 1920s. This is an unpretentious restaurant serving delicious western food. The old furniture and decorative memorabilia, preserved from when it was first opened, creates a nostalgic feeling. You will spend the night in Kuala Lumpur. Breakfast and dinner are included.

Spend the afternoon at leisure. At 18:45 you will be picked up for your cooking class at Palace d’India where you will be taught to cook Indian food the Malaysian way. After a sumptuous dinner, enjoy a trishaw ride through the streets of Georgetown. Visit the Hawker Food Centre, a gastronomic delight along the coast selling all kinds of mouth-watering foods. After this, you can visit some of the many nightspots in Georgetown at your leisure, including Farquhar Street and First Avenue at Cititel, Penang Road. You will return to the hotel on your own and spend the night in Penang. Dinner is included this evening.
After breakfast, visit a local “wet” market at Chowrasta. Explore the market and see the huge range of local fresh produce sold here, from fish, vegetables, spices, poultry, and meats to dry foods. After this visit, you will be taken on a walking tour to the inner city of Georgetown, visit Campbell Street, Kapitan Keling Mosque, Sri Mariammah Temple, Kuan Yin Temple, and Little India. You will also see Fort Cornwallis, the Reclining Buddha, and a Burmese Temple. On the afternoon, visit a tropical fruit farm, a lush orchard with over 140 species of tropical and sub-tropical fruit trees. Take a tour around the farm and enjoy a tasting session. Tonight you can enjoy dinner at the Golden Thai Seafood Village. You should not leave Penang without tasting its delicious seafood. You will spend the night in Penang. Breakfast and dinner are included.
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your onward flight or continue your gourmet adventure to Langkawi. On arrival, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend the afternoon at leisure. This evening you will be transferred to Bon Ton Restaurant for dinner. Located near the sea among traditional antique Malay houses and coconut trees, this restaurant is famed for its fusion cuisine. You will spend the night on Langkawi Island. Breakfast and dinner are included.
Today’s Malay cuisine class will be held in a lavishly crafted wooden Malay house, which resembles the palace of a Malay Sultan from a bygone era. Before class starts, the chef will help you to select your herbs for the meal, which are grown in the courtyard. Lunch will be the food that you create during this fascinating class. This evening, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the Kantan Restaurant for dinner, which is famous for its tantalizing traditional Malay food. You will spend the night on Langkawi Island. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

This food vacation will take place in and around Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Langkawi Island in Malaysia. Malaysia is an intriguing and diverse country, with a mix of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures, it will come as no surprise that it boasts some of the best cuisine in the world.
During your food tour, your palate will be feasted with five breakfasts, one lunch, and five dinners; four of these delectable dinners will take place in local restaurants where Peranakan cuisine (a mix of Chinese-Malay influence), Western food, Indian food cooked in the Malaysian way, seafood, and Malaysian food. Each of your three cooking classes offers a different style of Asian cuisine: Indian, Chinese, and Malay. In your Chinese cooking class, non-alcoholic welcome drinks will be provided as well as a souvenir certificate, for your Malay cuisine class, you will select your herbs for the meal to be prepared, these herbs are grown in the courtyard of the Malay house where you cooking class will take place. In terms of local products, Penang is a food paradise that abounds with fresh seafood and fruits. Despite its Chinese character, the city also has a strong Indian presence and there are some popular specialties to savor.
