The aim of this gourmet cooking course is to immerse you in the gastronomic treats of the spectacular Chamonix Valley, France, pleasing the epicurean in you. Whether you are a new cook or an experienced chef, you will be introduced to new techniques, recipes, flavor combinations, and presentation styles. With French, Italian, and Swiss culinary traditions, the Haute Savoie region provides a beautiful backdrop for a stunning, sensory journey.
The chalets where you will be staying are of a very high standard, with modern bathrooms and spa facilities. They are beautifully restored Savoyard farmhouses with ambiance and style. Your courses will be run from one of these luxury Alpine chalets: Chalet Vieille Savoyard, La Forge, Chalet Schuss, or Chalet Caro. You will be staying in a double or twin room with a private or en-suite bathroom.
Chalet Caro is a tastefully renovated Savoyard farmhouse, dating from 1835, located in the heart of the village of Les Houches. The chalet has five en-suite bedrooms and a sixth bedroom, a kitchen, a dining room with a French range cooker, a wood burning stove, and large farmhouse table that accommodates 12 people. There is also a professional second kitchen. Chalet Caro has an enclosed courtyard garden with barbecue facilities and a hot tub.
Chalet Schuss sits in its own woodland just above the village of Les Houches. It enjoys some of the best views in the valley and boasts a large, sunny balcony and enormous floor to ceiling windows. The chalet has five bedrooms with private bathrooms, an open-plan sitting and dining area, a separate television and games room, a sauna, and an outdoor hot tub.
Chalet Vieille Savoyard is a tastefully renovated Savoyard farmhouse dating from 1781, located in the heart of the village of Les Houches. The chalet has five en-suite bedrooms, a hot tub, treatment room with massage table, and a sauna. There is also satellite television, Wi-Fi, and a garden.
La Vieille Forge is a tastefully renovated blacksmith, set next to a small stream, located in a tranquil setting just above the village of Les Houches. The chalet has seven en-suite bedrooms, a spacious living room with an oak floor, and leather sofas and chairs.
It also features a wood-burning stove, and open-plan to a charming wood-panelled dining room. There is also a hot tub, a treatment room with massage table, and a sauna. The chalet also has satellite television, Wi-Fi, Wii games, and a lovely garden.
This course will immerse you in the gastronomic treats of the Haute Savoie region, which are influenced by French, Italian, and Swiss culinary traditions. Stay for a week in a luxury chalet, visit restaurants, markets, sample great wine and produce, and let it inspire you in your cooking sessions.
As a new cook or an experienced chef, you will discover new techniques, recipes, flavor combinations, and presentation styles. During this course, breakfast will be served at 08:30, lunch at 12:30, canapés and drinks at 19:30, and dinner will be served at 20:00. The itinerary may vary for reasons of weather or local events.
After arrival from 16:00, you will enjoy welcome drinks and dinner in the chalet.
The day will begin with a morning cooking session of French classics updated, part one. Later, you will take a kitchen garden tour and lunch at Bois Prin, a Michelin star restaurant. The afternoon cooking session will be part two of the French classics updated lesson. Dinner will be in the chalet.
Your morning cooking session will be on seriously stylish canapés and cocktails. Then, you will have lunch in the chalet. You will also enjoy a farm tour and a goat cheese tasting. Cocktails will be followed by dinner in the chalet.
Today is Italian day out. You will enjoy a market visit, a wine and cheese cave tour, and lunch in Italy. Upon return to the chalet, you will cook and eat Italian food.
The morning cooking session will teach you about modern game and organic meat. Lunch will be in the chalet. Later, there is an optional shopping trip or Alpine hike. Today, you will enjoy a two-hour afternoon wine tasting. Dinner will be in the chalet.
Today's morning cooking session will be on sourcing and cooking with fish. Lunch will be in the chalet. You will also enjoy a thermal spa visit. Finally, dinner will be at a restaurant.
Departure will be after breakfast.

The summers in the French Alps are so stunning and the produce is so exciting that Emma sets up Holiday Cookery Courses to introduce and share with clients the culinary delights of the region.
Jenna has experience as a chalet, private dining, and international chef. Her cooking styles are modern European and haute cuisine.
Lisa has experience as a chalet, restaurant, high-end private dining, and corporate event chef. Her cooking styles are modern European, vegetarian, vegan, and fine dining.
This gourmet cooking holiday will be held in the village of Les Houches in Chamonix Valley, France. From the chalet, you can easily travel throughout Chamonix Valley, as well as to Italy and Switzerland. Les Houches is ideal for both long weekend cookery holidays and week cooking courses.
All meals for the duration of the holiday are included, either in the accommodation or at a restaurant when specified on the itinerary. Wine is provided with lunch and dinner. Also, tea and coffee are available in the accommodation anytime.
The cuisine of Chamonix Valley has been influenced by French, Italian, and Swiss culinary traditions. During this gourmet course, you will get to discover some of its secrets, learn how to cook some of this region's dishes, and more.
You will also get a kitchen garden tour, as well as wine and cheese tastings. Your visit to an Italian market will make your holiday complete and give you a different insight into your cooking classes.
During this gourmet cooking holiday, there will be an optional shopping trip or an Alpine hike.
On your culinary holiday, you will enjoy an included thermal spa visit. Also, the chalets where you will be staying have spa facilities available.
Please book your flight to arrive at Geneva Airport (GVA). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Holiday Cookery Courses will pick you up from the airport.
