My husband and I were so impressed with the Hartstone Inn bed and breakfast, that any skepticism felt by my husband dissipated the moment we entered the Florence room and saw the greeting they had for us - a bottle of wine, 2 glasses, a cheese and fruit platter, crackers, and a card which read "Happy 40th anniversary from Ginny". My best friend's name is Ginny and I got such a good vibe from the room and her greeting. My husband was skeptical about staying at a bed and breakfast again after a bad experience we had in New York decades ago. After one night's stay and enjoying the breakfast out on the porch, at our own private table, he can hardly wait to stay there again in the fall. Mary Jo and Michael have got the formula for success down pat for other innkeepers to emulate! Thank you Mary Jo, Michael, and the Hartstone team for everything.

This weekend was our fourth Christmas celebration at the Hartstone for my wife and I. The food is exceptional and so are the rooms and amenities. The staff are all so welcoming. Mary Jo and Michael set high standards for hospitality and we love our stays at the inn. Thank you so much!

We have stayed here 3 times over the past 2 years. We have stayed in different rooms. All have been comfortable and welcoming. It is the food that keeps bringing us back. You cannot beat the quality of the food and the excellent service. Love their spiced bacon at breakfast. The sirloin steak I had on our last visit melted in my mouth it was so tender and flavorful. Hope to get back again in 2016.

This is an amazing B&B with every attention to detail! The bedding and linens were fantastic and very comfy! The breakfast was outstanding and the location could not be better. It's very convenient to everything. Be sure to give this a try when in the area.

My sister and I were looking for a different place for our annual Sister's Weekend. I found the Hartstone Inn online. It was wonderful, situated in a quaint town with lovely people. The owners of the Inn Maryjo and Michael (also the chef) are friendly, warm and very accommodating. We took a 2-hour cooking class/demonstration with Chef Michael in his immaculate kitchen. Chef Michael's easy going manner made us feel comfortable immediately. We watched in awe how effortlessly he whipped through 5 recipes. Dinner that night was in his restaurant, absolutely delicious lobster risotto. My sister loved the gingerbread souffl for dessert.

We have stayed here 3 times and each time I can't wait to return. The owners, Mary Jo and Michael are great hosts and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Each room is lovely. We have stayed in the Hideaway rooms and the main Inn on Elm Street and have never been disappointed. If you drive by, you are truly missing out on an exceptional experience. This last visit in May we did "chef for the day" with Michael and it was a wonderful time.We learned a lot, laughed a lot and tasted our hard work that evening at dinner. It was fun seeing what goes into making the meals for the evening and believe me, it's a lot of work! I cannot wait to return next year and for many years to come.
