We arranged for the guides from Green Italy for 2 days as we knew it would be difficult t get to some of he places we wanted to see....and they were wonderful. We really wished we had booked them for longer. They took us to great sights, gave good explanations and the background of interesting places and then lunch !!! Very good restaurants with so much great food....happy surroundings as well. It is hard to identify the best part of the days. I would absolutely recommend this company if you really want to see the fabulous...thank you to Gio for proving your great guides

Last September, my husband and I had a wonderful day tour with Gio and Gerardo visiting Otranto, Gallipoli, and finishing off with a visit to a beautiful winery for wine tasting. We were met in Lecce and spent a lively 40 minutes or so chatting with Gio and Gerardo while driving to Otranto. The scenery in Salento is amazing with its enormous bright blue skies, olive groves and vineyards stretching for miles in the sun drenched peninsula. Otranto greeted us with the blinding sun and crystal clear waters of the Adriatic. Add to that the beautiful cathedral of Otranto with stunning 12th century mosaic floor that depicts the tree of life, and you have a memory of a lifetime. What a place! After Otranto Gio and Gerardo took us to Gallipoli where we joined a group of tourists from New Zealand for lunch. All the dishes that Gio chose for our lunch were delicious and the seafood was as fresh as it ever gets. After lunch we took a walk through Gallipoli and then headed for the winery to taste award winning wines made right there, in Salento. Delicious wines made from start to finish using organic dry farming. It was great to be able to taste some of the best wines in Italy! It was a perfect day tour with very hospitable and knowledgeable guides, Gio and Gerardo. We felt very lucky to spend a whole day with these two very interesting and experienced guides. We will have lasting memories of our trip and for sure will return to further explore this beautiful part of Italy with Green Italy Tours. Thanks, Gio and Gerardo! Ciao!

We were met by Maria and Anthony in Polignano, they then drove is to Lecce where we met another small group of 6 also doing a Green Italy tour. We had a quick and wonderful coffee just outside on of the city gates. Caffe in ghiaccio! We had a great time strolling around Lecce , visiting a couple of wonderful churches , talking about the history and architecture of the city. From there on to Gallipoli for lunch in a wonderful sea food restaurant by the sea. Fantastic food ,service and company it was good to be able and sit and chat with all the people from Green Italy all had good stories to tell about the various towns they came from in Puglia and just the region as a whole. Following lunch and by then the late afternoon we went for a great wine tasting, well put together by our host from the winery, good wines well priced , we bought a couple of bottles to take with us. And some great local snacks. Then a drive back to Polignano. There was quite a bit of driving , but the scenery and the conversations with Maria and Anthony made in go quickly. Also just want to say the organising and booking of this tour with Giovanni via email from Australia was so easy he was incredibly helpful and efficient. To sum up this was a great day and well worth it.

We were staying in Lecce Italy for a month and planned to take day trips on our own to explore interesting surrounding towns, but when friends visited, we decided to squeeze a few interesting towns into one day with this tour. Right off the bat this company excelled in service. Picking us up just outside the old city of Lecce, Giovanni called to say he would be a few minutes late - that is service; he could have just arrived a few minutes late and we would not have noticed. Our tour included Ostuni, Cisternino, Alberobello and Polignano a Mare, and we were given a nice friendly introduction to each location. Giovanni gave us just enough information to interest us in the area without burying us in history, and we were encouraged to explore on our own. One real feature of this tour was that we never felt rushed. If you wanted to stop and bargain for a local piece of art we felt we could and were never told that we need to "Get Going!". Now I must admit that this did make the tour a lot longer than it was scheduled for but we never felt it was causing a problem. Our driver for this tour was the best. Gianfranco was always a true professional, careful driver and got us everywhere we wanted to go on time and safely. Then, when he was unable to answer a question about olives, he got on his phone and arranged a little side trip to connect with an "expert". If you want an excellent tour in the Puglia region, this is the tour group to go with.

It is certainly a 5-star rating for the one-day trip of Otranto and Gallipoli by Giovanni Fasano and his colleague Gianfranco at Green Italy Tours. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. An architect by background turned tour operator, Giovanni certainly enjoys sharing his passion for food, wines, and anything Solento, Puglia and Italy with his clients. The tour was packed with activities from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. They even managed to fit in a wine tasting session for us towards the end. Thoroughly professional, informative and with great care and planning. We had a lovely time. Highly recommended.

We, two couples, are coming back from a private 6-day tour of Puglia offered by Green Italy. I cannot imagine a better way of discovering this beautiful part of the country. We were fortunate to have Giovanni Fasano as our guide, more than a guide he was a gracious host who led our discovery of Puglia. The choice of the hotels, the restaurants, the wineries was perfect. His knowledge of the country and his experience made it possible for him to adjust to our pace and our interests. He knows the wine producers, the cooks and is able to tailor a tour that fits perfectly your request. The tour brings you in a very interesting part of Italy, charming cities, great people, great wines, and great food. The hotels "de charme" are unique and often do not have two rooms that are similar, so identify any specific need you may have. Green Italy Tour clearly exceeded our expectations. We had an amazing week and we would not change anything of those six days. I strongly recommend Green Italy Tour.

We arranged to meet Giovanni and Granfranco at a location near to our villa. We went to Lecce and Gallipoli where we had a lovely lunch in a seafood restaurant overlooking the sea. They also fitted in a quick beach stop plus gelato so our five year old could enjoy some run around time. We also visited an organic winery which was very good, with the Italian laws our elder teenagers were able to join in as well. Thank you also Giovanni for booking a lovely bistro for our daughters 17th birthday celebration - La Civetta in Ceglie, great ambiance and excellent menu and wine recommendations.
