Grapehops tour of this glorious region includes nine days and nights exploring the gorgeous cities of Girona and Tarragona, the D.O. wine regions of Priorat, Penedes, Alt-Emporda and Conca de Barber . Barcelona is the largest city in Catalonia and this tour combined with a few days in that magnificent city will give you a real insight into the land, culture and people of Catalonia.
The lodgings are, for the most part, comfortable, clean, and basic. Hotels will have private rooms with bathrooms. In the case of Venice and Croatia, guests sometimes stay in apartments, but you will always have your own bedroom and bathroom unless you are willing to share. Your tour director loves single travelers and happens to be one herself, so there are no single supplements on a Grapehops tour. If you are staying in apartments, you might be asked to share a two-bedroom apartment with another single, but you will always have your own bedroom.
The itinerary for this tour is subject to change according to your preferences and seasonal availability. This tour will include visits to several wineries (of course!), several tastings of regional specialties, city tours in Girona and Tarragona, an overnight in Montserrat (where you can see the famous boys choir and explore the mountain and monastery), a cooking class to learn how to make some of the areas regional specialties, a visit to a cork factory, gourmet dinners and lunches, epic picnics and much more!
Wineries that you will visit can include La Vinyeta, Clos Mogador, Clos Figueras, Mas Oller, Llopart, Sicus, Augustus Forum, and Jan Ventura. Grapehops tours are centered on the food and beverages of the region, with a bit of history and culture thrown in. You can count on a lot of stops for snacks and beverages, convivial meals, and tastings of local products. You can also expect to be taken care of along the way by your guides.

Expect fun, convivial, lots of food, lots of laughter. Generally speaking, dont expect haute cuisine in a quiet room. Expect lots of courses of tasty local foods accompanied by plenty of beverages.
Its up to you, but it never hurts to get in one day early to recover from the journey, even if you land in another area and transfer to the tour starting point on the first day of the tour. Even better, allow two or three days before the tour starts to get over the jet lag and get accustomed to the local time zone.
