The Favara walking and tasting tour is a walking tour of the marvelous city of Favara, one that allows you to live a true experience of the senses in this renowned city of the Easter Lamb. Your tour begins in Piazza dei Vespri, where the Chiesa Madre resides, so you will visit this beautiful Renaissance-style cathedral, the dome of which is among the oldest in Sicily.Continuing on the route, you will reach Piazza Cavour, the pulsing heart of the city. Here, you can find the city hall, the Castello Chiaramonte, the Chiesa del Rosario, the town library and a series of buildings of noble Sicilian origins, the beauty of which is remarkable and full of history.
At this point, following the winding little streets of the city’s historic center, you reach a historic pastry shop where you will taste Pasta Elena, a sweet that was born right in Favara on the occasion of the arrival of Italy’s Queen Elena di Savoia (spouse of king Vittorio Emanuele III), to the Agrigento region - a treat that was much to her liking, both for the flavor as well as for the homage.
Now arrives the moment to get to know Farm Cultural Park, a contemporary art museum which takes great credit in helping to bring new life and modern culture to Favara.
What is Farm? It’s a community dedicated to inventing new ways of thinking and living, a contemporary art museum but above all a museum of people. Seven small courtyards give a home to small Arabic-style structures where artists from all over the world exhibit their works. Here we will have an authentic lunch.
