Culloden Estate and Spa

Standing high on the slopes of the Holywood Hills, overlooking Belfast Lough and the County Antrim Coastline, is the magnificent Culloden Estate and Spa, the most prestigious luxury five star hotel in Northern Ireland.

The central location, only a 30-minute drive from Belfast, makes Newforge an ideal base for touring Northern Ireland.The six individually furnished en-suite bedrooms blend antiques with contemporary comforts and offer views of the gardens and surrounding countryside.

Excellent beds, with a choice of pillows, artisan leaf tea, ground coffee, homemade treats, and luxurious bathrooms await you. Newforge has been handed down through six generations and each of the bedrooms bear the matriarchal name of each generation who has lived in the house.

The Bushmills Inn

One of Ireland’s most well known, luxurious four-star hotels, The Bushmills Inn is situated in an enviable location, only a stone’s throw from a host of visitor attractions, such as the Royal Portrush Golf Club, Old Bushmills Distillery, The Giant’s Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, and Dunluce Castle.

The oak-beamed loft with its fireplace snug is the gateway to the Mill House on the banks of the River Bush.   • Newforge House will offer a fine dining experience that is steeped in local food and committed to seasonality.
  • Later, retire for a deeply peaceful sleep at Newforge House.

Day 2

  • Wake to a breakfast at Newforge House, before indulging your sweet tooth at a tasting session and tour of a local artisan bakery.
  • Then, enjoy a glass of bubbly and have dinner at the award winning Bushmills Inn.
  • Enjoy foods sourced locally and given a contemporary twist, all prepared by an artful chef’s culinary skills.
  • Spend the night in the comforting folds of one of Bushmills Inn's delightful bedrooms.

Day 3

  • Breakfast will be waiting for you at Bushmills Inn. A hearty presentation of local produce, sizzling bacon, sausages, and fresh eggs, or perhaps a warming bowl of porridge, some fruit, or something sweeter will take your fancy.
  • Stand on the Giant’s Causeway and survey the ocean before you and the history beneath you.
  • Make your way to Culloden Estate and Spa, an exquisite home that sets the standard for fine-dining and extraordinary accommodation at its beautiful estate.
  • After dinner, sip one last indulgent bit of wine, before enjoying a night’s sleep in a bed fit for kings and queens.

Day 4

  • Wake to another full and indulgent breakfast that will showcase again the delicious local produce readily available to this fine estate.
  • Roam the estate before packing your bags full of memories of the flavors you have tasted on your journey.

Driving directions from Armagh:

  • Take A3 for Craigavon / Belfast.
  • Continue for approximately 20 miles along the A3, passing through Craigavon, Lurgan, and Dollingstown.
  • In the village of Magheralin, turn right at Byrne's pub onto Newforge Road (B9).
  • Continue approximately 0.8 kilometers along Newforge Road.
  • Newforge House is on the first left after the national speed limit sign.

Driving directions from Belfast

  • Take M1 West, following the signs for Craigavon, until exit 9 for Moira / Lurgan (A3).
  • Continue for approximately five kilometers.
  • Once in the village of Magheralin, take the first main left, with Byrne’s Pub on the corner, onto Newforge Road.
  • Continue through the village for approximately 0.8 kilometers until the national speed limit sign.
  • Newforge House is 10 meters ahead, on the left.

Driving directions from Belfast International Airport (BFS)

  • Turn right out of airport onto A57.
  • After two kilometers take the third exit at the roundabout onto A26.
  • Continue along A26 for around 23 kilometers following the signs for Moira.
  • At the roundabout, take the third exit onto A3 and pass through Moira until you come to the village of Magheralin.
  • Take the first main left, with Byrne’s Pub on the corner, onto Newforge Road.
  • Continue through the village for approximately 0.8 kilometers until the national speed limit sign.
  • Newforge House is 10 meters ahead, on the left.

Driving directions from Newry

  • Take A1 north towards Belfast.
  • After approximately 30 kilometers, turn left at Dromore onto the B2 (Lurgan Road).
  • After eight kilometers, turn right onto Newforge Road B9.
  • Continue for approximately one kilometer over hump back bridge.
  • Newforge House is on the right after 200 meters.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 20% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 90 days before the arrival date.
