The River Lee hotel is one of Cork’s leading business and social destinations. All aspects of Cork's local life are played out here, from business events and family celebrations, to casual get-togethers in the hotel’s highly popular Weir Rooms, including the Weir Room Restaurant, Bar, and Terrace on the Weir; a key location in Cork’s growing food scene.

Day 1

  • Arrive in Cork, Ireland’s food capital, and make your way to the fabulously modern River Lee Hotel, where you will enjoy a specially-devised English market tasting menu featuring Good Food Ireland's producers and giving you an insight to those producers you will meet tomorrow.

Day 2

  • Wake to an indulgent breakfast then head into the character filled city of Cork, where you will visit the Butter Museum, a tribute to Cork’s fine and historically delicious butter.
  • You will then meet some of Good Food Ireland’s family of producers at the English Market, a thriving hub of food and activity in the heart of Cork.
  • Enjoy a light lunch at the Farmgate Café, where you will be served a plated selection of our wonderful producer's food.
  • Later, you will go back to the River Lee to freshen up, before a chauffeur arrives to whisk you away to Fishy Fishy Restaurant in Kinsale for a fine dining experience you will always remember.
  • Finally, return to the River Lee Hotel for a deep slumber.

Day 3

  • Wake to another full breakfast, before packing your bags and heading to the Allen family’s food paradise at Ballymaloe.
  • Your afternoon here begins with a personal guided tour of their award winning gardens before sitting down to a hearty meal at Ballymaloe House. This is prepared with locally sourced ingredients and cooked in deliciously simple and rustic ways.
  • Stay tonight in a superior room at Ballymaloe House.

Day 4

  • Time to depart taking your food memories with you.
