You will be hosted into wonderful typical Tuscan villas, surrounded by nature, set from 2 to 6-kilometer far from Gioia di Vivere cooking school. A short distance from the historic center of Lucca, in a privileged position, with breathtaking views of the natural beauty surrounding the city. During this program, you can choose the most interesting topics for your cooking classes: cakes and pies, fast and delicious sweets vegan recipes, vegan pastry, ice creams, tarts, or healthy desserts.

Sample daily itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Upon your arrival, check into your apartment or bed and breakfast. The rest of the day is free time for you to relax or go sightseeing.

Day 2: Cooking class

In the morning, participate in your first cooking class. In the afternoon, you will have free time to relax or to take part in individual excursions (for example hiking, biking paths, visit the charming villas of Lucca). You also have the option of booking an organic vegan dinner cooked by the vegan chef.

Day 3: Cooking class

Enjoy your second cooking class in the morning followed by free time in the afternoon.

Day 4: Cooking class

Begin your day with a morning cooking class. In the afternoon, you are free to explore the historical center of Lucca. You can rent bicycles to ride on the walls that surround the historical city.

Day 5: Departure

In the morning, you will have some free time to relax. Today is your your last day, check-out and depart to you respective destinations.

Driving directions

If you are driving from Florence A11 motorway Firenze-Mare, take the exit Lucca Est, go straight ahead until you find a round and take the third exit on your right. Then at the second round take the first exit and turn left to find the traffic light. Go straight along this main road until you cross the bridge on the river Serchio. Then turn right when you meet the sign "S.Macario in Monte." Follow the signs to Piazzano and then stop when you find a white sign S. Macario in Monte. Call Gioia di Vivere.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Pisa International Airport (PSA) or Florence Airport (FLR). Taxi or private transfers from Pisa cost from 70 EUR one way.

Arrival by train

  • If you are arriving by train, take the train from Florence or Pisa and exit in Lucca. Shuttle and train to Lucca cost 6.50 EUR.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 20% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 7 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
