Associazione Culturale Gioia di Vivere offers cooking classes in Lucca and Tuscany since 1992 to promote an healthy natural and organic vegan-macrobiotic diet.
Chef Bio Veg and teacher at the Gioia di Vivere Cooking School since 2009, Stefania has followed the parents' passion for natural therapies, and healthy, organic, curative, and preventive cooking. Graduated in all the study courses proposed by the association, she gives her love for cooking for many years and celebrates the pleasure of healthy eating by proposing herself as a vegan organic cook, giving support to the realization of meals and buffets for individuals or companies. She has already gained a good experience in food catering for ceremonies and weddings completely cruelty-free.

I learned a good deal in the short time we were together but came home and have been able to apply the skills and recipes at home
Stefania has a beautiful family kitchen using produce from her own garden
It was fun to sit down and have lunch all together and share food and local wines chosen by Stefania to go with the menu
The small class environment made the experience very special
Stefania even took the time to help me find a place to stay in for the night. The accommodation was in a beautiful villa and run by a lovely woman who herself is a fine cook
All in all a wonderful day that I’d do again

An authentic experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking lesson with Stefania and family, and we were thrilled to learn to make healthy local vegan cuisine. We look forward to making these recipes at home and we will think of our trip to the beautiful Tuscan countryside when we do. Definitely not only for vegans!
During our recent family holiday in beautiful Lucca, I wanted to treat my two children (one vegetarian and one vegan) and their partners to an authentic cooking class. I found Gioia di Vivere Scuola di Cucina Vegana Naturale and started emailing/negotiating with the wonderful Stefania!
Arrangements for a cooking class, that suited all tastes and levels of skill, and then a family dinner one evening, couldn't have been easier. Stefania was very happy to accommodate.
I must admit to being a bit nervous about the feedback after the cooking class and would have been a bit disappointed if it had been... yeah, it was pretty good. Fortunately I was well rewarded with the very enthusiastic and positive reaction from all four! They absolutely loved it and couldn't speak highly enough of Stefania and her mum and dad.
Our family dinner was amazing and such a wonderful experience! We were made to feel so welcome and the food a delicious feast for all (meat eaters, vegetarian and vegans alike!)
This was certainly a highlight of our stay in Lucca and I would highly recommend a visit for an authentic Tuscan experience!

An authentic and inspiring cooking experience - not just for vegans!
My mum organised this cooking class for my brother (vegan), myself and our partners while we were on holiday in Lucca. We chose the pasta course but my brother also wanted to try making pizza, so Stefania and Marina taught us how to make both. We made pizza using wholemeal flour and fresh pasta with an accompanying sauce that was the best i've ever tasted! Can't wait to replicate it at home.
The house is in a beautiful area of Tuscany, we rode our bikes from Lucca to the school along the river (Stefania's suggestion) and this really made for a perfect day overall. Stefania also helped us with other things to do in Tuscany as well as suggestions for good vegan-friendly places to eat. We visited most of the places she recommended and they were all great!
We returned to the school for a family dinner a couple of nights later which I also highly recommed. Some of the best food i've ever eaten. Thank you so much Stefania and family! Hope to be back again soon!
