The Italian cuisine course program "Da Lino" covers traditional Italian as well as Tuscan dishes, which have been revisited and renovated with the great knowledge and professional approach of a very fine chef. Italian cooking course

The courses of Italian cuisine in Florence can be followed by anyone. No particular requirements nor enrollment in these Italian courses are requested to attend this program. The only prerequisite to participate in this course is your love for cooking, for Italy, and for Tuscany.

Each lesson ends up with the participants dining on the dishes they have prepared accompanied by a suitable wine. The menu constantly evolves and changes, taking into consideration students' differing interests and requests. The program revolves around the seasons, as Lino prefers to always work with fresh ingredients rather than with frozen ones.

The course of Italian cuisine is completed with lessons of how to make homemade pasta such as tagliatelle, ravioli di ricotta e spinaci, tortelli di patate, tortellini, gnocchi, and pici.

Course outline

The cooking class will take place on Tuesday, Thrusday and Friday. Each session lasts three hours, from 15:30 to 18:30. All students will receive the list of the recipes they prepared, as well as the apron and the hat they used during the course. The course will be taught in English and Italian. Additional cooking courses on Monday and Wednesday can be arranged upon request for additional price.

The course can be arranged for a single person as well as for small groups of up to a maximum four participants. The course can be attended for a minimum of one week to a maximum of four weeks.

Participants are encouraged to tell Galilei Institue in advance which Italian dishes they would like to learn to prepare so that they can satisfy some of their personal expectations and tastes.

On the days of cooking course, dinner or lunch is included in the course. The meal will be served with a suitable glass of wine. If you stay in a hotel, daily breakfast is included while if you stay with a local family house, daily breakfast and dinner are included.

These guided tours and visits in Florence can be followed by anyone. All lessons can be taught in Italian or English. The visits and guided tours in Florence can either be followed in the morning or in the afternoon and are recommended for anyone who is seeking stimulating and less standard information on the greatness of the Renaissance period.

Wine tasting tours

Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico, and the Sangiovese wines are some of the most famous Italian wines. Take the opportunity to taste them directly in the area of their origin taking one of Italian wine tasting tours: a unique experience, which will make you appreciate even more the world-famous wines of the Chianti and Montalcino area and reveal you the secrets of the winemaking process. Knowledgeable guides will make the most complex wine issues interesting, easy to understand, and fun.

Private tours and excursions

Anyone can join these tours and excursions in Italy. All tours and excursions can be conducted in English or Italian. Each excursion takes place every day. This program of the private tours in Italy to the most notable and beautiful sites represents a natural continuation of the Art History course outside Florence. It can also be considered just as a program of excursions by itself, for those who don't want to participate in the Art History course or any other of courses.

The program of tours and excursions in Italy is recommended for everyone who wishes to enjoy the scenery while gaining a complete view of Italian historical beauties. Depending on the distance from Florence, some tours last half day (four hours) while others require a full day (seven hours).
