  • Caroline

Caroline and her husband, Adam, have decided to leave their comfortable life in Kent and headed off for a new adventure in France with their four young children. The summers spent vacationing by the Mediterranean had instilled in them a love for the outdoor life. Looking back, this was probably madness, as they had little knowledge of France and no real idea of what they were coming to. Caroline, a qualified teacher for over 20 years, loves her work running PMC Studio France. She enjoys meeting fascinating people from all over the world who come to learn or enjoy a relaxing holiday.

  • Adam

After working in global consulting and finance, Adam jumped at the chance to rebalance his life more in favor of family. Adam's passion for food and wine has been cultivated during these early years and he has honed his skills over the last decade living in “Garden of France”, an area rich in gastronomic delights, fabulous wines, and amazing Armagnacs. For Adam, cooking is a journey through the senses. Next to him, you will understand how local produce is made and the traditions behind it.

Gascony is an undiscovered region of south-west France so theres no chance youll have to wrestle with crowds when you go to sample the wonders that make this region so special. While there, youll quickly learn why Gascony is famed for its sumptuous local produce and seasonal recipes, and you will realize that the locals take their food very seriously. And, if youre partial to a cheeky little treat, Gascony is one of the main producers of foie gras. Its not just mouth-watering food you have to look forward to, though. You cant visit Gascony without trying out the fruits of the vine. Wherever you walk, youll be able to see the many vineyards sprawling over the hills and valleys, and discover that the wines are individual, full of character, and exquisite.

"It was a brilliant holiday. Caroline and Adam are excellent hosts. I came back with several pieces of jewelry to many compliments. The cooking experience was fun and there was much wine tasting and laughter. It is a beautiful part of France and I was taken to some of the little villages nearby, to markets, and Toulouse too. • Review by P. Wilkinson from England

"My sister and I spent a week at Baron Figues on the jewelry and cooking course - a girls holiday away from stress was the plan! Everybody involved made this a trip that will never be forgotten and forever treasured! The teaching was informal and friendly and Caroline and Adam simply couldn't do enough to make sure we had an amazing time. The surroundings, the pool, and activities were an added bonus although we were busy wine-tasting, eating local delicacies, completing jewelry projects and visiting Bordeaux! The food was phenomenal and we have come home armed with simple ways to impress our friends together with beautiful jewellery I am amazed we were able to create! I really felt that everybody made a huge effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We loved every minute of it and I would wholeheartedly recommend it - a great way to immerse yourself in rural France!
