During the holiday, you will stay at Villa Vetrichina. Villa Vetrichina is a beautiful country villa inserted in the circuits of intercontinental rent aimed at medium-high customers. The flower-lined alley with aromatic herbs leads directly to the parking area of the property. At the entrance level, there is a staircase leading to the upper floor, a guest bathroom, a spacious dining room with a fireplace and a big table for 12 persons, a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, oven, microwave toaster, espresso machine, and American coffee machine.

From this big room, there is a way to a small sitting room with a TV-SAT, VHS reader for children, sofa, and armchairs. From the sitting room, it is possible to access the Papere room.

There are no single rooms, and the accommodations are luxury for a minimum of 2 people.

Papere room

It is a spacious double bedroom in lily colors with mattresses and memory pillows, a king size bed (180 x 210), linens in natural linen and Italian cotton, and a bathroom with extra large shower.

Gilly room

With two steps down, there is one more bedroom with a king size bed (180 x 210), mattresses and memory pillows, bathroom with a travertine shower.

Monelli room

Next to this room, there is Monelli room. It is a bedroom for children with two single beds with orthopedic mattresses (80 x 190). There is a shared bathroom with the Gilly room.

Exiting the sitting room on an independent access, there is Suite del Mercatante composed of a hallway and two double bedrooms.

La stanza del Pizzo

The spacious bedroom with a double bed with ancient oak bench with two black stone washbasins. In the room, you will be provided with king size beds of 180 x 210 mattresses and memory pillows, and a bathroom with blue chrome shower.

La camera La Turquesa

This is a bedroom with a double queen bed (180 x 210), mattresses and memory pillows, and a bathroom with a big shower and a ceiling window. Coming back to the entrance hall, it is possible to go upstairs by a comfortable staircase of 14 steps. On the upper floor, there is a spacious GranCamino living room with big and comfortable sofas, TV-SAT, DVD, and a splendid terrace with table, perfect for the enjoying sunset, and a view of the swimming pool and of the San Casciano towers. The living room gives access to two double bedrooms.

La Dama Bianca

La Dama Bianca is a bedroom with soft elegant colors completed with king size bed (180 x 210), mattresses, and memory pillows. The unique bathroom is provided with a Devon and Devon

bath and a small shower.

Room Barone Rosso

This is a double bedroom with king size bed (180 x 210), mattresses, and memory pillows, and the bathroom in black travertine with extra-large shower. All of the materials are local and artisans, the flooring is in ancient oak, bathrooms are in Rapolano travertine, and original terracotta beams and floors. The house was built in the end of 1700 and the then additional volumes were added to the main building. So, the villa has a good arrangement of space and each room has enough privacy. The walls are old and very thick that protects the house from hot in summer.

Exterior

A large garden of 10,000 square meters surrounds the villa from all the sides. It offers a lot of corners to relax. A big pergola with table for 14 persons suitable for outdoor dinners, located between the villa and the pool. There are paths for walking and jogging. The swimming pool is immersed in greenery and is completely fenced. It has a charming covered zone with a roof, as well as beds and chairs. There is also a small fridge near the pool.

The pool has five steps and the depth from 1.30 meters to 2 meters and is illuminated in the evening. It can be heated for the additional cost. All the rooms of the villa are provided with air conditioner. It can be turned on in the selected rooms. There is counter indicating the energy consumption. The heating of the pool is also at extra cost. There are Wi-Fi in all of the rooms and two safes in the villa.

Program

Francesco Private Cook organizes cooking lessons, informal, fun, but in the sign of the most authentic culinary traditions. They use quality raw materials of the territory. The manor house opens and turns into a workshop where a loaf of water and flour becomes tagliatelle, ravioli, fettuccine and the scent of condiment sauces are a promise.

Day 1

  • Arrival at the airport or at Chiusi-Chianciano Terme train station, transfer to villa with Francesco Private Cook's vehicle
  • You will be offered welcome Apericena with Rosso di Montepulciano wine-aperitif and a rich buffet of Tuscan-Roman cuisine, delicacies, and an informal dinner of various and abundant tastings all with an excellent wine
  • Overnight in comfortable double rooms, all with bathroom

Day 2

  • Breakfast with sweet and savory products prepared at home
  • On request and by appointment, the ceramist in the villa will create an original pizza dish or pasta course lasting about two and a half to three hours
  • Lunch platter of cold cuts and local cheeses carpaccio of Chianina meat mixed salad
  • At 4:00 p.m., you will have a pizza dough preparation class in traditional way for about one hour
  • At 7:00 p.m. you will have pizza preparation, you will bake in a wood oven and enjoy a dinner with pizza

Day 3

  • Breakfast with homemade sweet and savory products
  • Excursion in Val d'Orcia, you will visit local cheese producers and enjoy tastings there
  • Photos in the characteristic villages, visit of the beautiful town, photo tour in the sets of famous films, and discovery of the thermal waters that flow free
  • Walk in the nearby villages and return to the villa for dinner
  • If you like a picnic, the house can prepare it for you, or you can have lunch in one of the many places in the characteristic areas of Tuscany

Day 4

  • Breakfast with homemade sweet and savory products
  • In the morning, you will visit the local market to purchase fresh local products there
  • You will have a cooking class, you will learn the art of cooking with basic ingredients using the products purchased
  • Dinner will be a surprise party

Day 5

  • Breakfast
  • Participate in a bread mini cooking class, you will also learn how to cook focaccia ciaccine and grissini pancakes with various types of flour
  • Lunch under the pergola in the garden with cured meats, vegetables, and red wines to taste, together with your own bread creations
  • Afternoon tasting of five types of wine, and a class for the pairings of the tasting and for dinner in the evening

Day 6

  • Breakfast
  • Pasta tagliatelle, gnocchi, and ravioli with condiments cooking class for an abundant lunch
  • Afternoon of well-deserved relaxation with a refreshing bath in the swimming pool of the nearby thermal spa with 38-degree water
  • A surprise dinner prepared by the chef
  • Delivery of the object made in the ceramic mini course and a memory of the chef's holiday in the villa

Francesco Falciani
Born in Rome, capital rich in sour colors and delicate perfumes, Francesco's great passion for cooking led him to search for new horizons in the culinary field. In Siena, he has specialized over the years in the Tuscan and Umbrian regional cuisine, collaborating in various restaurants and taverns. He got training in abroad working for a year in Austria and Switzerland. Back in Italy, he perfects himself by joining the F.I.C. In collaboration with an agriturismo in Umbria, he teaches the emerging chefs of Russia the traditional Tuscan dishes and promotes typical Sienese products.

Location

This retreat will take place in Tuscany, Italy. The villa is located a few minutes (1.5 kilometers) from the small town of San Casciano dei Bagni, a charming old hamlet with various shops, bars, restaurants, pharmacy, etc. It is accessible by a white road in a good condition, through the wood, immersed in a complete privacy. La Vetrichina is surrounded by the woodland, century-old oaks and yet it is provided by every modern comfort, as a result of recent restoration.

Within a radius of 80 kilometers, there are famous and unique places of beauty in Tuscany such as Montepulciano with its cellars and vineyards, Pienze with its architecture and pecorino, Montalcino heart of the Brunello, Siena and its history, Orvieto, and the Val d'Orcia which is unique in its kind.

The villa is in the middle of Rome and Florence.

How to get there

Driving directions from Florence

  • As you make your way out of the Chiusi-Chianciano exit, turn right, then follow the Chiusi-San Casciano dei Bagni n 146 direction. At the roundabout, turn right following the Cetona-San Casciano dei signs.
  • After crossing the freeway, at the intersection, turn right towards Cetona 321.
  • At the beginning of Cetona, after the Fina distributor immediately turn left, at the first intersection turn left towards Piazze-San Casciano dei Bagni.
  • Coming through a beautiful area of ​vineyards in the village of Piazze, continue on the main road in the direction of San Casciano. After about three kilometers, you will see on your right a picnic area, shortly after, you will meet a blue road sign that warns of electronic speed control and immediately after a hazard warning of gravel on the asphalt, on the opposite side, exactly opposite, you will see the dirt road and a wooden sign indicating Villa Vetrichina.
  • Take it and after 900 meters of bright wood, you will come to the relais and welcome.

Driving directions from Rome

  • Exit at Fabro toll booth, exit at Chiusi-Ponticelli.
  • Follow a straight road on the flat, parallel to the railway, arrived at Ponticelli, turn left. Follow the signs for Piazze-San Casciano from the Town of Squares.
