Go on a food lovers feast along the sun-kissed Amalfi Coast, as you indulge in the flavors of one of Italys best food regions and enjoy some of the most magical sights in the world. This week-long vacation will seem like a dream as you discover the authentic taste of fresh pizza, pasta, and pastries with the stunning Amalfi Coast as your setting. Along with all the food, you will also have time to enjoy the sea and the sights, while visiting the coastal towns of Sorrento, Ravello, Amalfi, and Postiano.
You will be staying at a gorgeous masseria restored into a luxury boutique hotel in Praiano.
Arrive at Napoli Airport (NAP) and transfer to the luxury boutique hotel in Praiano where you will enjoy welcome drinks and snacks upon arrival. The afternoon is free to relax and explore, while the evening will be spent with the group, walking through Positano and enjoying a welcome dinner together where you will go over the details of the week ahead.
Breakfast will be enjoyed at the hotel before starting your first cooking class. Lunch will be served after class and will consist of the dishes cooked. The afternoon will be spent by walking through Amalfi and visiting local pastry shops as you enjoy a guided tour of the fabulous pastries of the region. Dinner will be served at a local trattoria.
Breakfast will be enjoyed at the hotel before setting out on a boat ride to visit the Island of Capri and the Blue Grotto. You will spend the day exploring the sights. Lunch will be served in Capri. In the evening, you will have your second cooking class followed by dinner.
After breakfast at the hotel, your private driver will take you on the famous Amalfi Drive, starting in Amalfi and ending in Sorrento. Along the way you will take part in a limoncello-making demonstration and tasting, followed by an orientation walk of Sorrento and lunch. You will also have a few hours of free time in Sorrento, before returning to the hotel for a pizza-making class followed by dinner.
After breakfast, you will go on a morning visit to Pompeii for a guided tour of the ruins. On your way back, you will stop for lunch at one of the best Napolitan pizzeria along the Bay of Naples. The afternoon will be free to relax and enjoy the beach. Dinner will be served at a local trattoria.
After breakfast, you will visit a local winery where you will serve lunch. You will have free time after lunch to explore the nearby seaside village, followed by a cooking class in the evening.
After breakfast, you will spend the morning and afternoon in the hilltop town of Ravello, visiting both the Villa Rufulo and Cimbrone. Lunch will be served in Ravello followed by free time to explore and shop on your own. Dinner will be served at a local seaside restaurant.
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Napoli Airport (NAP) or train station for your trip back home or to explore further.
I received formal training as a chef in both pastry and savory arts at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. From there I’ve worked in patisseries, pastry kitchens and cooking schools in Paris, Napa Valley, San Francisco, Southern France and Italy. I’ve cooked with other chefs, wine & cheese makers, food purveyors and even a few famous Italian mammas throughout my culinary travels. Since 2012, I’ve been organizing and leading culinary journeys in both Italy and France, and offering daily cooking classes in Provence.
This holiday take place in the Amalfi Coast, Italy. Amalfi Coast is a popular holiday destination, with sheer cliffs and a rugged shoreline dotted with small beaches and pastel-colored fishing villages. The coastal road between the port city of Salerno and clifftop Sorrento winds past grand villas, terraced vineyards, and cliffside lemon groves.
Meals will focus on authentic and traditional dishes from the region. Classes will include two lessons on full courses and one class on the art of making pizza. Among other delicious recipes, some of the dishes you will learn to prepare include: handmade Ravioli Caprese, eggplant Parmigiano, Neapolitan lasagna, Mussels alla Marinara, and desserts such as Torta Caprese and Delizie al Limone.
