To let you discover the flavours of Sicily we have based our venue in the south east of the island: the place where it all began. The surrounding area is dotted with well-known historical sites and gastronomic locations. Sicily is an island of contrasts, mixed cultures and changing landscapes, and is bathed in sunshine most of the time. It has an amazingly diverse, ancient heritage.

Some historical sites are Siracusa Greek Theatre, the Temples of Agrigento and various Baroque towns such as Noto and Ragusa. The popular gastronomic locations are Pachino for cherry tomatoes, Modica for chocolate, Avola for almonds and wine, Ragusa for Caciocavallo cheese and so on.

We base ourselves in the south-east and the surrounding area is dotted with well-known historical sites - such as Siracusa Greek Theatre, and various Baroque towns such as Noto and Ragusa. Sicilians have a passion for food and drink with the sunshine and sea make the flavors of Sicily intense and exotic.

Various civilizations - Greek, Roman, Arabs, Normans, Spanish and British - have left their mark on Sicilian Cuisine. Every conqueror of this island has left behind the imprint of his culinary heritage. Discovering Sicilian cookery is like discovering Sicilian history. Various civilizations - Greek, Roman, Arabs, Normans, Spanish and British - have left their mark and from the gastronomic point of view, their influence is still in evidence in modern day Sicilian cooking.

"My first Flavours experience met and even exceeded all my expectations. The Tuscany venue close to Pisa was absolutely beautiful. The chef and her assistant were very accommodating and patient. The three 2-hour cooking lessons were very well paced and hands-on, and the recipes represented the Tuscan region very well. For me, after touring around Italy for two weeks, this was the perfect way to relax, unwind and end my vacation on a high note. I highly recommend Flavours as they delivered all they advertised and more. Thanks."

"Venue lovely and very convenient for airport transfers. If the pool had been open that would have been appreciated. Livia and Simonetta both charming and professional. Food and wine plentiful. Trip to Florence well organized and interesting. We had last choice of bedroom which was perfectly ok, though some of the others were even better. Overall cost was not cheap, but I think the high standards all round merited it. Service from the Edinburgh office was excellent and friendly. I have no faults to raise."

"This was my first holiday with Flavours and the first since being widowed last year. I wanted to feel safe with my choice of holiday and from the moment I spoke to Jess, a Flavours consultant, I knew that I was in good hands. The customer care and service offered by the company was outstanding and as a result I felt very safe travelling alone. The accommodation was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The cookery lessons and excursions were very well organized and informative and I learned a lot about the Sicilian culture. Again the Flavours staff made me feel very welcome and the customer care was once more excellent.I felt that the holiday was very good value for money as it was all inclusive and the food and drink were extremely good. Above all it was fun which was what I needed. I will certainly be going on another Flavours holiday and would recommend them without hesitation."

"Everything was very well organized. The lessons were excellent and the excursions were a lot of fun and we didnt have to worry about anything. Although no-one in the group knew each other, everyone got on really well and I made some great new friends. I hadn't eaten so well or laughed so hard in a long time - the holiday was definitely worth the long trip from NZ!"
