If you are interested to learn more about Croatian wines and taste much more, then you should go there and experience it on-site! Learn how Istrian people eat, drink and live on the largest Adriatic peninsula. See and taste what stimulates their palates and nose first. This triangle-shaped peninsula in the northern Adriatic is probably the best branded food and wine region of Croatia.
Participants will stay for 3 nights in a 3-star hotel in Motovun.
Arrival in Istria, meeting with guide and presentation of program.
Our gastronomic tour will start with Istrian dinner in a typical stylish tavern. You have opportunity to taste Istrian ham and cheese, homemade pasta and meat with potatoes accompanied with good wine and Istrian supa with red wine.
Return to hotel for overnight.
Drive to Motovun, one of the most interesting medieval towns. Culinary experts agree only on one thing that truffle in gastronomy is on top level. Unusual underground hidden bulb with no plant above ground is very difficult to find. Only a well-trained dog can sniff them. Truffles grow in grey soil, in woody humid area of Motovun in the valley of Mirna. Exactly that is where we go with a truffle hunter and with his well-dressed dogs seeking truffles. During our 1,5 hours walk through the forest, the truffle hunter will tell us all the secrets and particulars about truffles.
After that, a 4-course lunch on base of truffles followed by wine will be served in a specialized restaurant.
Visiting one of the best wine cellars in Istria, we will get acquainted with procedure of wine production and tasting of white, red and sweet wine.
Return to hotel and overnight.
Today we will visit town of Rovinj. Feel the enchantment of the town in its narrow medieval streets and warm Mediterranean setting. The main church of St. Euphemia keeps relics of the saint and presents one of the most beautiful Baroque achievements in Istria. From the church plateau there is a wonderful view of the open sea and numerous islets in the distance. A visit to the Rovinj town museum and the town's many galleries will complete your cultural experience.
After sightseeing we proceed to Lim fjord, a real nature reserve due to its untouched Mediterranean vegetation and extraordinary rich sea life. This fjord penetrates the inland for 10 kilometers. Natural conditions offer breading many kinds of fish and mussels.
Before lunch we sail along the Lim fjord where you will have opportunity to visit oyster farm and to taste fresh oysters.
Three-course fish menu will be served in a restaurant.
After lunch we will visit olive groves and oil mill where we will be acquainted with procedure of olive oil production and you have the opportunity to taste olive oil.
Return to hotel and overnight.

Luka was born in the 88, and has been involved in some kind of outdoor activities since he was a kid. In 2010 his hobbies became his profession when he started working as a guide. Luka specializes in seakayaking and hiking in the mountains. When he's not outdoors, he spends his time thinking up new tour programs that combine the nature and cultural herritage of Croatia.
Ilija studied history and comunicology on University of Zagreb which helped him to enrich knowledge about local history and society. For the few past years he is working as guide on biking, hiking and seakayaking tours all over the Croatia. When he is not working as a guide he spends his time playing soccer or rowing in local club. Except outdoor activities his interests are history and traveling.
Istria is a carefree combination of an active and quiet holiday destination. Don't be surprised if it wins you over with its charm. Should you choose Buje, Buzet, Motovun or Groznjan, you will find privacy and silence of medieval towns and fortresses. Familiarize yourself with the gastronomy and wine making.
Motovun is a small town in the interior part of Istria with a green Istrian landscape and wine roads that also plays host to many film festivals. Buzet is an authentic Istrian town that was settled in ancient history and is known as the town of truffles.
If you come to Istria, you will see for yourself why they refer to Istria as the "Tuscany of Croatia." The interior part of the region with its characteristic of stone architecture and small towns situated on hills create a peaceful and relaxing environment. The interior part of green Istria will greet you with a rich agrotourism offer and untouched nature.
Breakfasts are generally buffets that take your active program into consideration with a variety of low-fat and high-nutrition choices. Lunch is included and organized in local taverns and specialized restaurants. Dinners are included and served in hotels. Enjoy Istrian dinner on your 1st day. On the 2nd day you will be served a 4-course truffle-based lunch. And a 3-course fish menu lunch on the 3rd day will complete your gastronomic journey in Istria.
