During this holiday, Chef Sandy invites you in her home as she welcomes you warmly to discover the Mauritian culture and cuisine more profoundly. The guest room is arranged to be comfortable and is decorated with care to match our Island's spirit. It compromises with all amenities and services provided by five stars hotels. It is located in a calm, quiet and friendly atmosphere, and enjoy local seasonal cuisine and homemade specialties.
Welcoming cocktail, and light lunch with the chef. After the beach visit, interesting local dishes will be prepared by the chef.
Sight-seeing of monuments full of Mauritian history, accompanied by the visit of the town’s local market with the chef. Get introduced to fresh local produce, herbs, and spices and discover famous Mauritian street foods. After lunch, hands-on learning to cook some wonderful dishes of the Mauritian cuisine in a cooking class with the chef.
After breakfast, you will take a guided tour of the number one places in Mauritius then enjoy traditional lunch at a beachfront restaurant overlooking the bay. You will also drive around to discover the great beaches in the area such as "La Cuvette" amongst others.
Following a rested afternoon, you will participate in a cooking class for another type of authentic cuisine with the chef and will learn to prepare soup, starters, main courses, and dessert. Time for an evening cocktail and you will then enjoy your dinner with drinks!
After breakfast, explore the east on a full-day boat trip. Because of its unparalleled beauty, this is a day full of emotions, sun, beach, and sea.
Lunch is a feast of seafood and, not to forget the good old rum, followed by everlasting rums tasting sessions. With more surprising sightseeing, you will surely be tired from the trip. Hence you will comfortably freshen up and enjoy the chef’s delicious dishes.
Another boat excursion will take place on that day to visit Mauritius’ neighboring islands and you will enjoy snorkeling with thousands of fishes, fantastic barbecue, and drinks. In the evening, the chef will show you how to prepare common Mauritian dishes using also fresh and regional vegetables.
In the early morning, you will once more embark on a full day boat trip but this time: explore the west in an unusual dolphin safari! You will definitely take memorable photos. This evening you will cook five new dishes while the chef guides you through each step.
Discovering the Southern wilderness, you will take part in unique and fabulous adventures by visiting local factories, the "land of the 7 colors earth" and exclusively many green places that would please more than one’s eyes. You will then enjoy lunch in a typical restaurant, to taste the products of Chamarel. Tired by this wonderful adventure? Relax, let the chef do the cooking.
During the enjoyable evening, you will receive your award and her signed cookbook "A Feast of Mauritius" in English or "Un Chef a la Maison" in French, while lastly tasting homemade schnapps’.
With some last minute shopping in a local town’s popular Bazaar, you will have lunch with the chef on the patio. Finally, it will be time to say goodbye, until next time. You will depart to the airport.

By opening her own guest house in Mauritius, she aims to serve Mauritian/Creole cuisine. It is an amalgam of French, English, Creole, Indian, Chinese, and Malay cultures. The cuisine is a fusion of all these cultures, and yet present a very distinctive character of its own, a real explosion of colors, senses and flavors. In her book, she reveals the secrets of Mauritian and Creole cuisines for you to enjoy!
This holiday will take place at Grand Bay, Mauritius. It is the best resort town, considered to be the “Riviera” of Mauritius. Grand Bay is well known for its liveliness by day and night.
With more than a dozen of hypermarkets/supermarkets, casinos, banks, massage parlors, post office, shops offering a wide selection of imported high fashion branded labels, along with traditional local craft shops offering clothing and souvenirs, 100 of restaurants offering cuisines from around the world, Creole, Chinese, Italian, Indian, French, barbecue, pizzas, everyone will find something to his liking.
Every day during this holiday, you will be served with a complete breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will also benefit from being served any drinks and wines available in the villa as well as during the excursions. Every evening, there is a different cocktail (with or without alcohol).
