How the course works

Chef Sandy will send you, in advance, the list of ingredients and equipment in order to facilitate your preparations and cook these delicious feasts. Just follow her easy instructions, ask questions, stop, ask more questions just like you would if you were in her kitchen.

Timing of sessions (GMT+4)

Classes will start from 5 p.m. and end at 6p.m. Mauritius time (GMT+4). Participants may attend one class per week or all classes one after another.

Course information

Day 1: Mauritian Cuisine (Monday for English, Thursday for French)

Amalgam of many cultures, French, English, Creole, and Indian, Mauritius' local cuisine reflects a fusion of all these flavors in an incredible, an explosion of senses, colors, and flavors, and yet offers a very distinctive taste of its own.

Menu

  • Starters - Beignets: Learn to prepare, a light a fluffy batter for your starters and snacks.
  • Main dish - World famous Rougaille: A must for all Mauritian housewives is also at the heart of all creoles cooking "Sausages Rougaille”.
  • Dessert - Bananas Flambee: Just three ingredients, learn to flambee bananas properly and not burn your hair or eyebrow.

Day 2: Chinese Cuisine (Tuesday for English, Friday for French)

Chinese cooking is famous around the world, dishes foods are light and tasty. You will find numerous restaurants and take away in every town and every country around the world. With Chef Sandy, you can now cook an express Chinese meal at home and enjoy light, healthy and delicious foods, faster than ordering from take out.

  • Cream Corn Soup: Just three simple ingredients - create magic.
  • Blacken Eggs: Starter or snacks and good picnic take out too.
  • Steam Fish with ginger sauce: So light and tasty, you will wonder why you didn’t try this before.

Day 3: Indian Cuisine (Wednesday for English, Saturday for French)

India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world, a mosaic of multicultural experiences. With a rich heritage and myriad of diversified attractions, food is a vibrant assortment of uncountable dishes, distinctly characterized by the subtle and sophisticated use of spices, grains, fruits, vegetables, and meats.

Chef Sandy has mastered the use of these spices and invites you to join her express online cooking class to discover the numerous spices and learn how to cook step by step this wonderful meal, from the comfort of your home and enjoy it with Flaky Layered Parathas, a delightful Indian bread, with your family and friends.

  • Chicken Curry: A “must-try" dish, if you travel to India, now you can learn to cook this fabulous curry at home, to enjoy again and again.
  • Potato Chutney: A nice and healthy dish, even kids will love it.
