How the course works

Chef Sandy will send you, in advance, the list of ingredients and equipment in order to facilitate your preparations and cook this delicious feast. Just follow her easy instructions, ask questions, stop, ask more questions just like you would if you were in her kitchen.

Timing of sessions - Mauritius time (GMT+4)

Classes are available twice a day:

  • from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Course information

Day 1 - Monday for English, Thursday for French: Mauritian Cuisine

Amalgam of many cultures, French, English, Creole, and Indian, Mauritius' local cuisine reflects a fusion of all these flavors in an incredible, an explosion of senses, colors, and flavors, and yet offers a very distinctive taste of its own.


  • Starters

Learn to prepare, a light a fluffy batter for your starters and snacks.

  • World famous Rougaille

A must for all Mauritian housewives is also at the heart of all creoles cooking "Sausages Rougaille”.

  • Choo-Choo Salad

Learn to create an emulation simply with your fingers to enhance your salad.

  • Creole rice

Basmati rice with fragrant spices, no oil or salt added.

  • Bananas Flambee

Just three ingredients, learn to flambee bananas properly and not burn your hair or eyebrow.

Day 2 - Tuesday for English, Friday for French: Chinese Cuisine

Chinese cooking is famous around the world, dishes foods are light and tasty. You will find numerous restaurants and take away in every town and every country around the world. Snacks, soups, rice dishes, fish and meat dishes, vegetables are nice light and tasty, easy to prepare with proper ingredients. Appetizer, quick bites, or main dish, there is no limit on how, when, and where to enjoy them. With Chef Sandy's light and delightful menu, you will enjoy a full banquet.

Day 3 - Wednesday for English, Saturday for French: Indian Cuisine

India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world, a mosaic of multicultural experiences. With a rich heritage and myriad attractions, the country is among the most popular destinations in the world, attracting millions of travelers every year.

Food in India is a vibrant assortment of uncountable dishes. It is distinctly characterized by the subtle and sophisticated use of spices, grains, fruits, vegetables and meats, all grown in the country.

Chef Sandy has mastered the use of these spices and is happy to welcome you in her kitchen and invites you to join her cooking class to discover the numerous spices and learn how to cook step by step this wonderful meal, from the comfort of your home and enjoy it with Flaky Layered Parathas, a delightful Indian bread, with your family and friends.

  • Chicken Curry

A “must-try" dish, if you travel to India, now you can learn to cook this fabulous curry at home, to enjoy again and again.

This cooking course is conducted online. Chef Sandy from Feast of Mauritius is based in Mauritius (GMT +4), and she will live-stream the classes via Skype. You can participate from the comfort of your home by just using your phone or computer.
