Accompanied by their storyteller, dive deep into Indian cuisines from the north, exploring Punjabi, Mughlai, Awadhi, and Pahadi cuisine. The hotels and resorts handpicked for this unique trip are charming, luxurious, and compliment the local characters of each place. Visit age-old spice markets, feast on some butter chicken, or indulge your sweet tooth with some piping hot jalebis, all the while exploring the sights and culture of northern India. Engage with masters of their crafts about the story of the evolution of these cuisines, learning the nuances of different dishes as you experiment with traditional spices, add your own modern twists, and craft your own story. Day 1 - Delhi, arrive and relax

Arrive in Delhi and transfer to your hotel. Relax at your well-appointed hotel in Lutyens Delhi. You could consider taking a walk in the nearby gardens and recoup from your flight.

Day 2 - Enjoy Delhi’s history and cultural melting pot

Explore Routes takes you to the historic Old Delhi. Visit the age-old spice market right in the heart of the capital, sharing streets with cars, cycles, rickshaws, and cattle. Feast on Mughlai curries and kebabs at one of the iconic restaurants or dip into piping hot jalebis. Move to central New Delhi, soak in the cultural sights, art, and craft and arrive at an artistic cafe - enjoy fusion Indian cuisine and a tete-e-tete with one of the leading culinary artists in Delhi.

Day 3 - More of Delhi’s history and food

Today, far from the crowded lanes of Old Delhi, you will explore the high streets and attraction of New Delhi, indulge your taste buds in every way (along with famous monuments Qutub Minar and Humayun tomb). Post the sigh seeing, follow the culinary expert to vegetable and spices shopping and witness a live cooking session with the same ingredients.

Day 4 - To the Royal Rajasthan

Head out to Jaipur, the capital city of the colorful state of Rajasthan. Arrive to a royal traditional welcome, your stay at one of the boutique hotels will leach you mesmerized. Explore the city’s art, craft, and take pit stops to nibble on local offerings.

In the evening settle down with your drink at a mesmerizing bar-restaurant, an experience which transcends across the Rajasthani heritage and modernism.

Day 5 - Dip into history of Jaipur

Lined with giant forts and palaces, the city of Jaipur enthralls. Visit the iconic Amber Fort, drive by the world-famous Haha Mahal, visit Jantar Mantar and Cit Palace - as your mind wanders into the life of the royalty. Head back to the hotel for a relaxed afternoon, a cooking demonstration of typical Rajasthani dishes (Laal Maas - "red" lamb curry is a specialty). Unwind to some local music and relax over dinner.

Day 6 - Agra, the city of Taj Mahal and more

Head out to the city of Agra, best known for the Taj Mahal, one of the wonders of the world. On the way stop at Fatehpur Sikri, another fine example of the Mughal architecture. Also visit the Agra Fort, which offers some beautiful photo opportunities. Settle into your carefully chosen luxury hotel, that exudes the regal vibes, and offers Mughlai cuisine that is famous worldwide.

Day 7 - Visit the iconic Taj Mahal

Experience the magnificent Taj Mahal at sunrise, also preferred before the crowd's build-up, as the morning also adds to the serenity of the monument. Enjoy breakfast and then drive out to Lucknow.

Arrive in the city of Lucknow, which has a glorious past and also known as the city of Nawabs. Your hotel here comfortable and truly boutique giving an insight into the lives of rich Nawabs of the bygone era. Take a casual stroll at some of the famous streets of the city and pick up the aroma and the vibe.

Day 8 - Lucknow, the city of Nawabs

Start the day visiting some of the most charming monuments of Lucknow. Bada Imambara, Lucknow Residency, and the Nawab tomb. The Awadhi cuisine that got patronized in this city still has its secrets well kept. Explore Routes will let you in on those during a cooking session. Explore the city’s famous Chikankari craft, which also makes great gifts for self and others. Settle into a cozy dinner for a specialty al-fresco Awadhi meal.

Day 9 Amritsar, the food capital of Punjab

Amritsar, the capital of the state of Punjab and known world over for its style of cooking. Fly to Amritsar, and dip your hands into some authentic Punjabi food. Relax and get ready for the next day.

Day 10 - Holiness, history and more

Experience the true serenity of the Golden Temple. Witness the miracle of the langar, a free meal served at Gurudwaras all over the world. On average days, 50,000 strong people partake of the food served here. Walk around to the neighboring Jallianwala Bagh that holds great importance in India’s struggle for independence.

Explore Routes' culinary specialist will take you through an authentic cooking demo - local bread being cooked in clay ovens. Drove to the India Pakistan border and watch the friendly change of guard ceremony.

Day 11 - Ah the mountains!

A short drive away is the mountain town of Palampur - you will witness the mighty Himalayas and also see a historic fort built on high lands. Arrive at Palampur and relax at a beautiful resort enjoying the mountain view and fresh crisp air.

Day 12 - Soak in the mountain vibes

You drive to close by Mcleod Ganj, famous all over the world for the Buddhist monastery, world cuisine, and artful cafes, amidst the loft mountains and pinewood trees. Witness a mountain meal Kangra Dham being cooked. On the way back you may want to stop at a tea estate.

Day 13 - Relax and Reflect

Relax through the day, leisurely walks, cozying with a book or your favorite music as you get ready to leave back for Delhi on your journey back home.

Day 14 - Homebound

Fly out to Delhi, and ready for transfer to your flight back home loaded with pleasant memories from the trip.
