Edge of Seattle is a unique full-service inn in the Woodinville wine country. It is secluded and located away from city life and yet it has luxury accommodations. It is a French country inn, modeled after the auberge country inns of France. This inn is recognized as a culinary destination, as they have a French specialty school on the property. Edge of Seattle is located on five secluded acres, surrounded by an evergreen forest. This culinary inn is renowned for its excellent cuisine, being well off the beaten path and for promoting an opportunity for you to connect with your loved ones in the Woodinville wine country.

The building is well insulated and cool. This auberge estate invites the world to a setting reminiscent of the private auberge of Europe. As in those quiet and secluded auberge of Europe, Edge of Seattle is also well off the beaten path, covering five acres in the forest of evergreens, especially enticing for lovers who seek a romantic setting away from prying eyes for the day, week or longer. Lovers can roam the grounds, set on the surround veranda, and enjoy homemade tarts, cakes and other eateries upon request.

Chef quarters (one-bedroom apartment)

Queen-size bed in separated bedroom. This unit is totally separate from other units. Hydronic floor heating, high ceiling, 3 outside exit doors, gourmet kitchen, dishwasher, oven, stove top (gas / electric), flat screen TV, CD, DVD player, French doors to private patio, separate open kitchen / living room from bedroom (750 square feet).

Honeymoon suite

Private entrance, king-size bed, limestone face, wood burning fireplace, high ceiling, Bahama ceiling fan, limestone floors, hydronic floor heating, lavish bathroom with soaking hydro-massage tub for two, double shower, bidet, private patio, open French doors to your own outside terrace and beautiful garden view (650 square feet). This suite was newly renovated in 2011. It is furnished with French antiques and family heirlooms.

Studio suite (sleeps 3)

Queen-size bed, single-size bed, high ceiling, hydronic floor heating, 4-person hydro-massage tub and shower, wet bar, in-room refrigerator, patio (500 square feet).

You will learn the secrets of traditional French cuisine using the best of seasonal fresh ingredients, without preservatives, additives, or chemicals. You won't see anything frozen or canned used at your cooking class. Nor will you find any genetically modified (GMO) products used here like canola oil, corn products, or soy products. During the classes, you will receive a hands-on experience of preparing traditional 3-course French dinner. The class starts at 17:30 until 21:00.

Driving directions from Seattle

Stay on the continuation that becomes Avondale Road.

Go to the end. Avondale hits a T in the road; that road is called the Woodinville / Duval Road. Make a right-hand turn.

There's a signal light and a small mall in front of you. Continue till you get to the third signal light which is 212th. Here turn right.

Go to the next intersection and turn left; you will then be on 165. After that, go straight.

In front of you, the road will curve to the right. Once it has curved, it will then be 216 Avenu. N.E.

Immediately, look on the left for a white sign with a light shining on it and for a long gravel drive way, with a street sign that reads "REMY WAY". There is also a green mailbox with the number 16400 on it. There is also a hanging sign with a capital A for auberge. You can see many solar lights along the gravel drive way with Lavender plantings. The property has a bright green metal roof that you can't miss.

Drive around to the front. At night, lights will be on all over the building, driveway and up in Edge of Seattles wedding garden area. If you see 164 Street, it means that you have gone too far.

    "Wedding on August 22, 2015, what a divine experience. I showed up around 2:30 p.m. and was seated in the outside lounge. Since I was early I didn't mind the atmosphere and view was marvelous. During the meal I was seated closer to the kitchen and had full view of the non-stop wait staff that did start serving at 7:10 p.m. on the dot.The dinner was just wonderful. It seemed the food didn't stop coming. Seeing the wait staff as they flowed through the party making sure everyone was served and had full beverages in hand, from my view of things all went well and on schedule. I am very impressed. I have booked Auberge de Seattle for two of my own parties."

    "We rented the chef's cottage for a week to help out our daughter and the new baby in their family. It was clean and attractive with a bedroom and large kitchen/sitting room. The owner was friendly and helpful, even during the power outage caused by a huge windstorm. The setting was quiet, with a lovely garden. It might be a great setting for a very small wedding. My only objection was that there were no screens on the windows, and you had to open them because there is no air conditioning. During most of the year this would not be a problem, but there were a few really hot days this summer."

    "My husband and I just came back from an amazing two night stay at Auberge de Seattle. Breakfast croissants delivered to our room each morning were outstanding. Our cooking class was great. It was fun learning new techniques and visiting with the other guests. The meal we cooked was excellent, along with the dinner conversations and new friends we met. The evening was very delightful!     "We just returned from a lovely Labor Day weekend retreat at l'auberge where we enjoyed Nancy's gracious hospitality, peaceful French country-like setting, well-appointed apartment unit and cooking activity one evening. For anyone looking for a taste of France away from the hectic city - this is the locale juste!Not only was the cooking activity well-orchestrated for our group of 3 couples, but we all actually created a wonderful typically French dinner which we all then shared. The chef, Phillippe, was informative and entertaining as well. I have lived in France for many years and this evening was a special treat for me as it transported me far away from my working world to a relaxing and elegant bit of France."

    "When my girlfriend told me she had booked us a weekend getaway to a bed and breakfast in Seattle I was very excited. Upon arrival at l'auberge, we were greeted with such a warm welcome by the owner Nancy Douglas. She was very hospitable and tended to our every need. We ate at the Herb Farm our first night, with both negative and positive reviews.The second night, we enjoyed a lovely evening with about five other couples drinking wine, cooking and eating. The best way to a lot of peoples heart, including mine! The accommodations were lovely, the scenery was picture perfect, very quiet and serene. The only question we found ourselves asking was when are we going to return?"

    "Nancy Douglas, the proprietress was charming, gracious, a giver of great goodies every evening, and gourmet treats for the morning. In addition a chilled bottle of champagne greeted me on arrival. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, well-appointed and private. I could not have asked for more. Nancy was warm and friendly, yet very respectful of my space. I would return there in a nano-second, in fact I plan to return another time."
