In Porto, you will be staying at 4-star Exe Almada Porto. In Lisbon, you will be staying at 4-star Olissippo Marquês de Sá ou similar. Twin rooms will be available. Eco Trilha reserves the right to change hotels based on availability and pricing.

Day 1 - Lisbon

  • Arrival at Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS)
  • At the set time, an Eco Trilha representative will be meeting you at the airport to assist and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2 - Sintra, Lisbon

  • See the 16th-century Jeronimo’s Monastery (UNESCO); the monument to the discoveries, honoring intrepid Portuguese explorers and their patrons; and the impressive Belem Tower (Tickets are not included).
  • Visit an old patisserie that has managed to hold on to the secret recipe of Portugal’s finest pastry for over 100 years and enjoy a demonstration and tasting of the famous pastéis de Belem.
  • Its unique narrow streets, lined with whitewashed chapels and white houses edged in blue, are the perfect place for thoughtful wandering.
  • Continue to the town of Sintra, a UNESCO site and the favorite summer house of Portuguese kings for six centuries. Here, peruse specialty shops filled with Portuguese handicrafts.

Day 3 - Lisbon, Setubal

  • You will visit two wine farms Casa Museu José Maria da Fonseca and Adega da Bacalhôa.

Day 4 - Lisbon - Óbidos - Fátima - Porto

  • Your day on Portugal’s “Silver Coast” begins in the medieval walled town of Óbidos village, surrounded by medieval walls and by its whitewashed houses.
  • Don’t forget to drink Ginja. It is a Portuguese liqueur made by infusing ginja berries, and it’s the second most popular alcoholic drink in Portugal after the Port wine.
  • This tour also features the imposing sanctuary of Fátima, a center of Catholic faith and destination for pilgrims from across the world.

Day 6 - Porto

  • Elected Best European Destination 2012 by the European citizens, Porto is history, architecture, culture, gastronomy, trade, encounters and discoveries altogether.
  • Walking tours in Porto, visits to the city’s historical center of world heritage and monuments of Porto.
  • Itinerary: Torre dos Clérigos, Livraria, Lello e Irmão, Avenida dos Aliados, Estação de S. Bento, Ponte Luís I, Sé Catedral (optional: entrance in museum), Bairro da Sé and Ribeira.
  • In the afternoon, enjoy a Port wine tasting and a Fado performance.

Day 6 - Douro Valley

  • Some of the best vineyards in Portugal opens the doors for you to the culture and community that are behind a country’s history.
  • This is an unforgettable journey through the beautiful landscapes of scenic mountains and wonderful views.
  • Lunch is included.
  • Overnight in Porto.

Day 7 - Braga and Guimarães

  • Guided tour in the city of Braga, known as the “Portuguese Rome”, for its concentration of religious architecture, as the oldest cathedral of the country.
  • Founded in Roman times, with the name of Bracara Augusta, this city has over 2000 years of history.
  • You will visit The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sameiro, Bom Jesus. In the afternoon, you will visit Guimarães. A historic town, exceptionally well-preserved and an authentic example of the evolution of a medieval settlement into a modern town. (Optional: visit the museums and monuments).
  • Overnight in Porto.

Day 8 - Departure

  • Transfer to the airport. End of program.
  • There are no activities planned for this day.
