Join Eclipse Travel to explore Colombia, its Caribbean heat, colonial history, and its lush coffee plantations that make Colombia a must for any adventurous traveler. On this journey, you will visit Bogota and venture into the Andes Mountains before heading up to the Caribbean coast to colonial Cartagena and the tranquility of the Tayrona National Park. This trip will be perfect for nature and coffee lovers.
You will stay in an accommodation with private facilities. Hotel rates are based on double or twin share lead in rooms. Other room types and hotels are available. Rates are subject to change and different rates may apply during holiday seasons and special events.
In this tour, you will visit Bogota, the modern and cosmopolitan Colombian capital, and also explore Spanish colonialism in Cartagena. For those who are coffee lovers, the tranquil and traditional coffee zone with its beautiful landscapes and friendly locals await you. Do not forget to relax in hammocks near the superb Caribbean beaches of Tayrona National Park. You will totally unwind by joining this program.
On arrival in Bogota, you will be met and transferred to your centrally located hotel where you will spend the next two nights.
After breakfast, you will explore the city of Bogotá on guided sightseeing tour to some famous attractions in the city. Later you will have the option of visiting the world's famous Gold Museum (closed on Mondays), home to the largest collection of pre-Hispanic gold in the world, or the Botero Museum (closed on Tuesdays), which features works by Colombia's greatest artists. Afterward, you may return to your hotel.
In the afternoon, you will have free time to explore more of the city at your leisure. Recommended places to visit include the Casa de Moneda (old mint) or you may wish to take the cable car or funicular railway to the top of Monseratte for spectacular views of the city and the surrounding hills.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Pereira where you will continue your trip by road to the coffee country (Zona Cafetera) on the western slopes of the central Andean range. This area offers a warm and pleasant climate. The scenery is really attractive with lush and green mountains.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided tour of a local coffee plantation where you will discover the production process from seedling to cup as well as learn about the trials and tribulations of the plantations themselves and the many workers who rely on coffee for their livelihoods. Naturally, cups of coffee will be in plentiful supply throughout your visit.
In the morning, you will leave for the Valle de Cocora which is located in the central mountains of the Parque Nacional de los Nevados. In the afternoon, you will go to the traditional town of Salento to enjoy a city tour. You will visit the Plaza de Bolívar with its colorful balconies, the handicrafts shops, and the Cocora viewpoint.
Afterwards, you will move to the traditional village of Filandia to enjoy a city tour that includes a lovely view, colonial homes, the Plaza de Bolivar, and the coffee shops. Lunch is included in this day.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departing flight. After a brief stopover in Bogota, you will be met and transferred to your centrally located hotel where you will spend the next two nights. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a panoramic tour of the city, which includes San Felipe Fortress and La Popa Monastery.
This day has been left free for further exploration of the city, or for some time to relax on the nearby beaches of Bocagrande.
After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to the 16th century city of Santa Marta. It is approximately four-hour drive from Cartagena following the coastal road. Located between the Santa Marta Mountains and the Caribbean Sea, the city is a popular tourist destination due to its history, colonial architecture, beaches, and nearby nature reserves. You will enjoy the afternoon at leisure.
On this day, you will leave Santa Marta and you will be transferred to the Tayrona National Park for two nights relaxation on its pristine Caribbean beaches. Its most acclaimed beaches are Arrecifes, La Piscina, and Cabo de San Juan del Guia y Castilletes, which can be reached easily from the hotel where you stay at.
This day is a day of leisure to explore the national park. There are numerous paths that link the various beaches and bays which make perfect walking trails to pass the time in peace. This is an amazing place to sit back and relax, roam the beach and jungle trails, and spot the local wildlife.
After breakfast, you will be picked up at the hotel and transferred to Simón Bolívar International Airport (SMR) where you will take your departure flight. If you have extra time, you are suggested to add additional days to chill out or further exploration many natural and cultural attractions in the area, including Ciudad Perdida, an archaeological site to rival Machu Picchu (this can be completed in four days).

During the tour, daily breakfast will be served. Lunch will be served on the fourth day when you leave for the Valle de Cocora. You can buy your own meals when you are traveling or in many cafes and restaurants nearby.
At additional costs, you can rejuvenate yourself with spa, massage, or other treatments at the chosen hotels.
Please book your flight to arrive at Simón Bolívar International Airport (SMR). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Eclipse Travel will pick you up from the airport.
