"This is a pleasant, if somewhat isolated retreat, but clearly it is doing something right as it was very busy. Friendly reception after easy parking in a new building clearly designed to compliment the other members of the site, some of which date back, we were told, 900 years. The a trip across a courtyard to our room which with British weather may occasionally have issues, but I don't see how this could have been avoided. The refurbishment of these old buildings give the impression of a labor of love. Our room was large, airy and comfortable with well thought out fittings. A number of chairs (two easy chairs and a couple of more upright affairs), plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, bedside tables, well stocked tea-tray, hairdryer, flat-screen TV and easy to access Wi-Fi."

"The en-suite shower room was large with good quality fittings in general; the shower head was a bit variable depending on the setting one selected. Towels were large and fluffy. The bed was generous in width and comfortable, but it lacked a little in length. On the floor below was an honesty bar with a comfortable lounge area beside a inglenook fireplace. Breakfast was good. I liked the use of local produce in the full English breakfast... the Eckington Sausage was a jumbo affair packed with sausage meat but possibly a bit too much pepper for my taste, but pleasant all the same. Except for helping oneself to cereal and juice the rest was table service. Coffee was served from a jug; it might work better if each person was given a pot so one could decide when you wanted it poured and help oneself to any refills."

"Check out was efficient with the same very pleasant and professional approach. I liked this place not so much because I was wowed by everything but more by the fact that they are really making an effort here, using local produce, making their own and investing in their product. It shows in everything from the house cider to the decor, none of it looks cheap but all of it looks considered. I'm likely to make the effort to get here again!"

"As a last minute idea we called to see if we could stay for one night en route to somewhere else. It was the last room they had and we booked b&b and a meal which had to be at 08:45 because they were busy until then. The Reception lady was delightful and made us feel very welcome. The room was quite small with skylights so no view but compensated for by the most exquisite "wallpaper" of painted and part embroidered silk. The bathroom was very well appointed with an excellent walk in shower. "

"You don't have to stay in your room; there is a whole house to explore and in which to relax with an honesty bar! The meal was a delight - we felt honored to be cooked for by the 2015 Masterchef! The beetroot risotto was full of exciting flavors and my husband said the rhubarb dessert was divine! If I wanted to quibble the service was a bit slow but we had said we didn't mind as it was so late and it was better than being rushed."

"This quiet village contains the gem of the County. Eckington Manor is situated in a beautiful set of gardens. Each room is individually bespoke with fantastic features. Large beds that swallow you as you get into them. Cast iron baths that you can relax shoulders deep into. A wet room that has been thought through brilliantly. The separate lounges are great spaces to chat and talk with family and friends. The food here is mouth watering, I can not rate it highly enough. If you get chance visit this fantastic place - it is well worth the money, go on treat yourself and your loved one. Stayed April 2015, travelled as a couple"

"The location is really nice on a working farm, with a lovely drive through the Cotswolds to get there. We had a one night stay and half day cookery course. The room was lovely, bed and pillows so comfy. Our evening meal in the restaurant was excellent. We did an Italian cookery course which we both really enjoyed, the chef was excellent and very patient, we took away some really good tips and ideas, it was a hands on course, so good fun, after we had all cooked our mains we all went to the restaurant with our food and had a nice lunch with wine, and complimented ourselves on a tasty lunch!"

"We stayed in a luxury room. It was very nicely furnished. Great ensuite shower room. Very well laid out with its own gas log burner with sofa - nice touch. It was too warm though for us to make use of it. Linen on the bed was lovely. We would highly recommend this hotel. The staff is very efficient and friendly. The restaurant food and atmosphere was excellent. Each course of the 3-course dinner was beautifully presented and tasted fabulous. The breakfast was excellent too."
