Join this culinary holiday for a tour through Italian history, religion, art, wine, and food. This program will take you to the most important sites in Assisi and Perugia, both full of history and monuments. A low hill and close to Campello sul Clitunno, the bed and breakfast Il Giovine has three elegantly furnished rooms with private bathroom with shower, bidet, bathrobes, hair dryers, and complimentary toiletries. You can relax in the large lounge with fireplace in winter or in the cool terrace in the summer.

Here, you can follow short courses of typical Umbrian cuisine made with local ingredients, together with the hostess and chef, Chiara. The amenities include centralized warming, living room, linens and towels, coffee machine, and fridge. Pets are allowed on request.


Day 1

  • 08:00 Appointment at your accommodation in Rome and departure for Perugia
  • 10:00 Arrival at Perugia to meet your guide, start the tour, and visit the city; from July 7 to 16, there is an Umbrian jazz event
  • 15:00 Transfer to Il Giovine for check-in; the afternoon will be free for you to relax
  • 20:00 Dinner and overnight

Day 2

  • 08:00 Breakfast
  • 09:30 Transfer to Assisi and visit with your guide to Santa Maria degli Angeli and Porziuncola, the Basilica di San Francesco, and Eremo delle Carceri
  • 14:30 Back to the bed and breakfast Il Giovine
  • 17:00 Cooking class with the chef who will prepare an appetizer, a first course, a main course, and a dessert with you; what you cook will be consumed at dinner with red wine
  • 20:00 Dinner and overnight

Day 3

  • 08:00 Breakfast
  • 09:30 Check-out and transfer to the Fonti del Clitunno for a free visit
  • 11:30 Transfer to the oil mill and taste DOP certified extra virgin olive oil with snacks made of local cheeses and meats
  • 14:00 Departure for Rome
  • 17:00 Arrival at your accommodation in Rome

The bed and breakfast Il Giovine is located in the center of Umbria, on a hill position. It is close to the historic center of Spoleto and offers a picturesque view of the river in Clitunno Valley. Its location is ideal to visit other art cities of Umbria, such as Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto, and Trasimeno Lake.

Perugia was founded on an acropolis at the height of about 500 meters above sea level by the Etruscans. It is a city of rich history, art, and monuments. It consists of five medieval villages, each with its own entrance. Bell towers, basilicas, and churches make Perugia a top tourist destination.

Entering Assisi, you go back in time, there is an air of history and religion. Saint Francis is something unique; worldwide believers remain enchanted by the beauty of his basilica. You will be amazed by Santa Maria degli Angeli and Porziuncola, the Basilica di San Francesco, the Eremo delle Carceri, the frescoes by Giotto, and the entire city.

During this culinary holiday, two breakfasts and two dinners are included, as well as an olive oil tasting. The extra virgin olive oils from Tuscany and Umbria are unmatched. How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request. One-way transfer from the airport to Rome center costs between 50 and 80 EUR for two to eight persons.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 7 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
