This one day part demonstration / part hands-on cookery course offers the opportunity to master some wonderful seasonal dishes that are low on stress but high on that finishing touch. Selection of starters, main courses and desserts covered, recipes for all supplied. The emphasis at Dunbrody Cookery School is on freshness and seasonality of locally-sourced ingredients and utilizing these to achieve fabulous dishes without the worry of overly-complicated recipes. Their belief is that cooking should be fun and their courses are designed to be fun.
While retaining so many of the original 1830s features and fixtures the rooms and suites at Dunbrody also offer all the comforts of modern living. No two rooms are alike and the exquisite fabrics and furniture are a lovely mix of contemporary and traditional. Interiors are understated with a calming, muted palette of colors which ensure guests really switch off and relax and experience the tranquility and restorative powers of a country retreat. Through the Georgian picture windows, suites and rooms offer peaceful views over the gardens and parkland.
Many rooms offer a balcony or garden terrace, some the exposed beams crisscross the vaulted ceilings, others an original roll top bath. Breakfast is included in nearly all the rates and is served till noon daily. To really treat yourself why not enjoy a champagne breakfast in bed at Noon and a late check-out? What better way to finish off a weekend in the country? Tucked away from the main hotel, the recently-restored stewards house offers a perfect accommodation option for families and small groups looking for more independent longer stay perhaps mixed with some self or in-lodge catering. Were delighted to have the fires ready, extra turf stacked, kitchen stocked and a hamper of Dunbrody goodies to enjoy.
Cozy, comfortable and warm with earthy color schemes located towards the back of the house over-looking the spa and cookery school. The bedding is an orthopedic mattresses and duck down toppers and comes with goose and duck feather pillows or non-allergenic pillows, goose and duck feather comforters or non-allergenic duvets or traditional blankets, as well as crisp white cotton bed linens.
You will get complimentary fruit and water on arrival. We also provide twice daily house-keeping service. For the bathroom, it comes with Damana Earth & Sun paraben-free citrus/juniper/sage olive oil. Bathroom also have selection of facecloths, hand towels, bath towels, and bath sheet. Some rooms offer separate shower cubicle, others shower over bath.
Dunbrody cookery school has been designed to cater for all levels of cooks, from budding enthusiasts (back to basics) to the experienced gourmet (specialized courses). The perfect blend of demonstration and hands-on individual tuition means that you will learn practically and be able to reproduce the dishes at home in your own kitchen. Arrive one day before your class and check in the following morning to your class at 09:15. This program commences at 09:30 and expected to end at around 16:30 or 16:45.
Located just opposite Dunbrody Country House where the restaurant has received numerous awards the simple philosophy of under-stated but delicious food follows on in the Dunbrody Cookery School. All of the courses at the Dunbrody Cookery School have been personally designed by Celebrity Masterchef Kevin Dundon who can often be viewed on RTE in Ireland and PBS in the USA with his TV show Modern Irish Food, HEAT and BBCs Saturday Kitchen.
The cookery school has also received numerous excellent reports from magazines like Departures Magazine, Sainsburys Food, Waitrose Illustrated, Olive, Food & Wine and many newspapers too. Under the care and guidance of our Cookery School Chef Julien Clemot, guests will learn the secrets of producing fine food using only the best of quality Irish ingredients.
Dunbrody Cookery School offers various cooking courses for food enthusiasts. Participants will have the hands-on opportunities to experiment with various locally produced ingredients in their effort to deepen their love for culinary knowledge. With groups of up to ten we provide guests with the chance to translate their enthusiasm and love for food into the real skills needed to produce fantastic food.

Take the R733 to Arthurstown.
30 kilometers later Dunbrody is located on your left as you come into Arthurstown village.
Coming from Dublin South take the M50 to the M11 / N11 to Wexford (via Enniscorthy). Just after the Ferrycarrig Hotel you will come to the New Ross Road Roundabout.
Go straight through this roundabout following signs for Rosslare and the N25.
About 1 kilometer later you will come to the Duncannon Road Roundabout. Take the third exit sign-posted R733 and Duncannon, Ballyhack and Arthurstown.
Stay on this road for 30 kilometers going through the villages of Wellingtonbridge and Ramsgrange.
Our entrance is on the left hand side as you come down the hill just before Arthurstown village. Estimated driving time is between 5 and 2 hours outside of rush hour traffic.
If you are coming from Dublin North and the airport, take the M1 coming out of the airport and follow signs for the M50 Southbound and the West Link Toll Bridge.
Take the exit sign-posted M50 and go through the Toll Bridge (2 EUR) following the M50 Southbound. Follow signs for the M7/M9 to Waterford/Kilkenny and stay on the M9 motorway as far as Exit 11 when you will see signs for New Ross (after about 100 kilometers from M50).
Exit the motorway, turn left and follow the directions to New Ross (about 15 kilometers).
In New Ross, come over the bridge, turn right along the quay and follow the N25 towards Wexford and Rosslare for 2 kilometers and then turn right onto the R733 to the Hook Peninsula and Arthurstown.
Stay following the R733 to Arthurstown for 18 kilometers and you will come into Arthurstown village. Turn left at the crossroads and come up the hill where you will see the main entrance to Dunbrody after about 200 meters.
Take the R683 sign-posted Passage East and Dunmore East. As you leave the city limits take the left turn sign-posted Passage East Car Ferry (just after Orpens Pub) and take the ferry from Passage East to Ballyhack.
Turn right as you come off the ferry and drive on to Arthurstown village. Go straight through the crossroads, up the hill and our entrance located on the right as you come out of the village.
Last Ferry from Passage East 10 p.m. (1 April to 30 September) and at 8 p.m. (1 October to 31 March)
Estimated driving time 20 - 30 minutes.
Follow the N25 sign-posted Dublin.
At the second roundabout (Duncannon road roundabout) take the first exit onto the R733 and follow this road through Wellingtonbridge and Ramsgrange villages.
As you come into Arthurstown village our entrance is located on the left hand side. Driving time from Rosslare about 40 minutes.
FlyBe and Aer Lingus operate a wonderful service from a number of UK airports into Waterford Airport.
