Tucked away in a quiet corner of County Wexford, near Arthurstown, is Dunbrody House Hotel. Here you can have a peaceful weekend away or one night as we did and fit in a relaxing spa treatment, a delicious meal accompanied by expert cocktails, wake up to an amazing breakfast (all cooked to order) and accompanied by fresh fruits, yoghurts, selection of Irish cheeses, wonderful cereals and homemade breads and jams. The house is surrounded by beautiful walks and they have their own stables and cookery school run by Chef Kevin Dundon. The staff are really friendly and helpful and our room was really large and so comfy with our own balcony (we were surprised with an upgrade upon our arrival). The bed was really comfortable. We ate in the bar from their extensive bar menu, but they have a beautiful dining room where there is a 5 course season menu. We would have loved to stay for another night!

Friendly staff, beautiful old structure with comfy rooms, great spa and terrific restaurant. Not cheap, but well worth it. Like stepping back in time to the early 20th century. The grounds are well tended and beautiful. Also - well situated for trips to Hook Peninsula and Waterford (easy ferry - not even ten minutes away).
Room Tip: we had a ground floor room, with a door affording direct access to the big lawn.
