Tucked away in a quiet corner of County Wexford, near Arthurstown, is Dunbrody House Hotel. Here you can have a peaceful weekend away or one night as we did and fit in a relaxing spa treatment, a delicious meal accompanied by expert cocktails, wake up to an amazing breakfast (all cooked to order) and accompanied by fresh fruits, yoghurts, selection of Irish cheeses, wonderful cereals and homemade breads and jams. The house is surrounded by beautiful walks and they have their own stables and cookery school run by Chef Kevin Dundon. The staff are really friendly and helpful and our room was really large and so comfy with our own balcony (we were surprised with an upgrade upon our arrival). The bed was really comfortable. We ate in the bar from their extensive bar menu, but they have a beautiful dining room where there is a 5 course season menu. We would have loved to stay for another night!

Friendly staff, beautiful old structure with comfy rooms, great spa and terrific restaurant. Not cheap, but well worth it. Like stepping back in time to the early 20th century. The grounds are well tended and beautiful. Also - well situated for trips to Hook Peninsula and Waterford (easy ferry - not even ten minutes away).

Room Tip: we had a ground floor room, with a door affording direct access to the big lawn.

I attended a day cookery Course at Dunbrody House. Our instructor was Julien. There were seven in total; the first part of the day was watching the instructor which was delivered very clearly with lots of tips around the Kitchen. We had a coffee break, then we all got to know each other. Then, back to kitchen for the prep of the main dishes which was fish and rack of lamb and were kept very simple and very tasty. We ate the main course which was delicious and it was then back for hands-on. All in all, it was a very enjoyable day. Came home with the receipts. Have tried several of the receipts and they turned out great. Got full marks from my family. I would definitely attend another one!

Loved the stay in Dunbrody. The cookery course was really enjoyable, fun, informative and well organised. It was five days and included demonstrations, lots of recipes, cooking, tastings, and tips. I definitely recommend it!

We had a beautiful family meal in the Bar in Dunbrody Country House this week end. The fire was lit, lending to a lovely cosy ambiance. Food, staff and ambiance first class, reasonably priced, would recommend.

We had lunch here for a family celebration last week. The food was truly excellent and the staff were most helpful and couldn't do enough for us. This is the most relaxing and enjoyable time everyone had. We will be back.

The one day cookery course was great. Our chef for the day was Emma and she was excellent. I attended on my own and Emma made me and the whole group feels relaxed. She answered all our questions and gave us some great tips. The dishes she cooked were delicious and we enjoyed eating the beautiful food. After lunch we were hands on and cooked apple and rhubarb crumble and goats cheese tartlets. I had a wonderful day and Emma, her assistant and all the staff at Dunbrody House was a pleasure to meet. I cant wait to go back there.
