Thanks to a recommendation, we had our best meal in Italy here. The hotel is beautiful. The wine cellar impressive. The food was incredible: creative, innovative, succulent, and delicious. Even the descriptions on the menu made for a great read!! Best of all, the owners welcome everyone heartily and make a point to check on diners after each course to make sure the meal is being enjoyed. Afterward? They even walked us through the kitchen to meet the chef and his kitchen staff. We'd love to go back and try the breakfast cooking school. Just a,amazing - a must!

We loved our time at Don Alfonso 1890. The rooms are very comfortable, the Alfonso family are warm and hospitable. It really feels like you are a guest in their home (which you are) and they are there to chat with you and make sure you get the most out of your stay. There is much history in the place, the restaurant and the property, with many interesting stories to learn about. Take a quick visit to their spectacular 2000 year old wine cellar that goes deep down into the ground. Visit their wonderful organic farm. Take hikes around the area. Take a most interesting and breathtaking (literally on the uphill portion) walk 30-45 minutes cutting through the back rounds and through the windy roads straight to Sorrento town and back. It was great to get to know Livia, Mario, Ernesto & Silvana from the family.

Everything you dream about the Amalfi Coast, without being in the thick of crowds. Don't be fooled by the promises of those places on the water, as you roll your suitcase down the cobblestone roads to get to them only to overpay and be underwhelmed...This hotel and restaurant are perfection in every detail. Lovely views of both Gulf of Salerno and the Gulf of Naples from this location. It is said the Greeks had an acropolis in Sant'Agata based on this amazing vantage point. Everything is within a short and gorgeous drive to which, unless you are James Bond, you will take a taxi. Rooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated. Iaccarino family and staff are gracious and accommodating. The restaurant is beautiful, wonderful, and "farm-to-table" defined, with almost everything sourced from their local organic farm, Le Peracciole. I recommend a trip out to this gorgeous farm where they grow the sweetest lemons I have ever enjoyed. During our four days, we enjoyed breakfast in a beautiful courtyard every day. The staff also organized a boat trip for us to Capri via Nerano. We also enjoyed a lovely walk to Sorrento where we spent a day, and we also spent another day in Positano. Ravello was another option, but we were moving on to Rome. I loved this place and hope to return next year. Until then, I will have my pictures and memories.
This place is an inspiration, for excellency, creativity, hospitality, great service, amazing food and amazing people. It was an honor to eat dinner at this place and enjoy every minute of it it's a different world of hosting and making food. The Alfonso family (great people) and all the others who work with them and make this place an adventure for life. I wish I could give you more than 5 stars you deserve each one of them, I want to come back already
