On our recent visit to Chania, we booked a private tour of Biolea with Natalia at Diktynna Travel. The organic olive oil estate tour was absolutely wonderful. Christine was so knowledgeable and we learned so much about olive oil. I bought both the original and the lemon infused olive oils; they are awesome!

On our Eastern Mediterranean cruise, we had a port day in Chania, Crete, and wanted to do something different. Being foodies, we booked a cooking class and Diktynna Travel was able to fit it into our tight schedule. Anna met us in the port and took us on a lovely tour of the Venetian harbor and the market, before we got down to work at the 400 year old farmhouse; our outdoor classroom. Stella, our teacher, was patient showing how to make delicious home-style Cretan cuisine. Dakos, kalitsounia pies, stuffed vegetables, lamb stew with wine, garden greens salad and Greek yogurt with stewed cherries were on the menu (along with Greek red and white wines and grappa) and we ate it all al fresco. Along with a copy of all the recipes, we received a lovely bag of some of the ingredients we used to prepare the food, so that we can cook at home.
