"This was the best cooking class I've ever taken. The food we prepared was delicious and easy to make, the market tour was fascinating and full of historical details, and the day changed how I understand Mexican cuisine. My mother and I took the class together, and we loved Kris's style of teaching and how knowledgeable she is about food, San Miguel, and Mexican culture. The best part was that I can really imagine making these recipes again. I hope to take other courses in the future."

"My husband and I wanted to take a class especially to learn how to make mole. Kris and La Cocina offered this on Thursdays but since Kris was going to be out on the Thursday we were in town, she kindly changed her schedule to Friday. Not only is she accommodating, she is very knowledgeable about Mexican cooking (and other cuisines) and all the ingredients. There were only 3 of us in the class and we had great fun preparing, learning and best of all...eating. Thank you, Kris, for a memorable cooking experience."

"My party of four just had a wonderful day with Kris, learning new recipes and more about Mexican food and cooking. Kris is charming, approachable and informative and we enjoyed the company of three other, friendly students. We started with a terrific tour of the colorful food market bursting with fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables. We stopped at a few stalls to sample unusual ingredients and to purchase items we would use later to make our exceptionally tasty lunch. I have been coming to San Miguel for several years now, but I learned many new things about the town and food market from Kris, who cheerfully answered all our questions. Then we cabbed over to her cooking school, where we enjoyed a hands on cooking lesson in her well laid out kitchen and lunch, margaritas and dessert in her lovely dining room. We learned about seasoning molcajetes and cazuelas, toasting tomatillos and peppers, while tasting, chopping, grinding, toasting and laughing all along the way. I highly recommend this super fun and informative experience."

"My husband and I have been able to do quite a bit of traveling in the past few years, and we have discovered that taking a cooking class, especially one that takes you to the local markets with the leader andante their home is a perfect way to "get behind the doors" and into local homes. We were lucky to be introduced to chef, Kris Rudolph, eat at her home for a private meal and then comeback for a cooking class at La Cocina. We joined two other people and found Kris an excellent teacher as well as a warm hostess. What we especially liked was that our class was not just a demonstration, although Kris did a great job of demonstrating techniques, but was definitely hands-on, which we have found is the best way to learn. I was able to take photos, which always helps me remember key steps, and the recipes provided were easy to follow. Eating with Kris and the others in her lovely dining room was an added bonus as we discussed the news of the day while enjoying the fruits of our labors. Thanks, Kris. Look forward to seeing you north of the border!"

"If you are looking for some inspiration for cooking I would highly recommend this cooking school and experience. The setting was in the chefs Mexican Casa in the heart of a beautiful San Miguel de Allende which itself is a beautiful world heritage sight in the center of Mexico. The chef had cooking talent as well as the skills to encourage people to try cooking things they had never done before. she provided recipes and was very organized. She put a lot of effort into making the experience a successful one. She was filled with all sorts of historical information about Mexican food and its origins. We had hands on experience in her kitchen and also dined on our creations in her beautiful dining room. If you go to San Miguel de Allende this is a must do experience. If you are looking to learn to cook this is one instructor and chef you should arrange sometime with."

"Last month my husband and I joined good friends for a terrific cooking class at La Cocina with chef, Kris Rudolph. Our cooking group was lively and fun - everyone was invited to participate in the preparation of a "Traditional Mexican Cuisine" dinner, which was absolutely delicious! Ms. Rudolph's expertise and charm are exceptional. I could not recommend her cooking school more highly."
