During this holiday, you will stay at Cortijo El Carligto, a private luxury villa in Canillas de Aceituno, with stunning views of the Mediterranean and the Moroccan mountains in the distance. This private estate lies secluded on a hilltop at the junction of three mountain ranges. The exclusive rural retreat will be your home for the week, making for a perfectly indulgent culinary experience.

Day 1: Welcome to Spain

After your arrival at Malaga Airport (AGP) or train station, a driver will transfer you to Cortijo El Carligto, a lavish villa in Canillas de Aceituno, situated on a secluded hilltop at the junction of three mountain ranges and overlooking the Mediterranean. Alan, your host at the villa, will be there to welcome you with wine and authentic tapas.

You will have time to unpack and relax before dinner. After unpacking, you will enjoy a welcome dinner with the rest of your group. The gourmet four-course meal will feature local Andalucian cuisine by Chef David.

Day 2: Vineyards, chefs of Andalusia, and the Costa del Sol

You will have a mid-morning departure for a winery tour at Bodegas Bentomiz in Sayalonga. You can relax in the wine salon as the Bodegas' owners lead you in a guided tasting of each of the Ariyanas wines. Following, you will depart to the seaside town of Nerja, often referred to as the Jewel of the Costa del Sol.

In Nerja, you will enjoy a tasting menu at Restaurante Sollun with Chef Juan Quintanilla, a Michelin-rated chef known as one of the best chefs in the area. After lunch, you will have time to walk around and discover this charming town and visit the famous Balcón de Europa, with its magnificent views of the coast. Dinner will be at the villa and prepared by Chef David.

Day 3: Pueblos blancos, dining with locals, olive oil, and bodegas

The mountains of Malaga province are peppered with pueblos blancos, white villages. Today, you will visit three of them: Riogordo, Comares, and El Borge. You will have lunch at Juan Salvador Cortijo, the home of Chef David. Later, you will enjoy a stop to a typical bodega for sweet wine tastings and dinner at a local restaurant in the town of El Borge, also known as the grape capital.

Day 4: The essence of Granada and magnificent Alhambra

Following breakfast, you will depart to the beautiful, lively, and historical city of Granada and experience Spain’s Moorish and Christian history with every step you take. You will partake in a two-hours-and-30-minutes, private guided tour of the famous Alhambra fortress, the Nasrid Palaces, the Medina, and the Generalife Gardens.

Afterward, you will have a tapas lunch in the old center of Granada, as well as a walking tour of the historic Arabic Albaycin neighborhood and the area around the cathedral. Dinner will be back at the villa, prepared by Chef David.

Day 5: Chef guided trip to Malaga and paella cooking course

After breakfast, you will depart to the historical and colorful Malaga. Your chef guided walk will include a delicious snack of churros, a tour of Malaga’s vibrant Atarazanas central market, and some shopping for ingredients for tonight’s dinner. You will also stop at a bodega to sample typical Malaga sweet wine and tapas. Once you return to the villa, you will cook up some paella.

Day 6: The vineyards of romantic and captivating Ronda

After you finish your breakfast, you will depart to the historical and beautiful region of Ronda, known for its stunning landscape and vineyards. You will visit three vineyards for wine tastings and tapas, each one unique and wonderful. The day will end in Ronda Centro, a spectacular cliffside town. There will be time to stroll around and enjoy the amazing views. Upon return to the villa, you can enjoy a light dinner at your leisure.

Day 7: Leisure day

This is an open, flexible day to explore or do as you please. Enjoy the day at the villa or ask for options to be arranged for this day. Today, you will also enjoy a farewell dinner, where Chef David will showcase his talent and prepare a gourmet, six-course tasting menu for you to enjoy on the outdoor terrace, under the stars. In between courses, you will enjoy a mesmerizing flamenco performance. Prepare to be dazzled!

Day 8: Goodbye, El Carligto

After an unforgettable week, private transportation will take you from the villa to Malaga Airport (AGT) or the train station.

David honed his cooking skills training in Maastricht, Netherlands, where he developed the gourmet flair to match his creative instincts. David then moved with his family to Andalusia, his father’s homeland, where he grows fresh organic produce and edible flowers for the use in his gourmet creations. With a deep knowledge of traditional Andalusian cuisine, David adds a modern twist to the many unique dishes he creates for his guests.
