You will be staying at two different accommodations during this culinary vacation. In Saigon, you will be staying at Sonnet in a deluxe room while in Can Tho you will be staying at Iris Can Tho Hotel in a superior room. Both hotels are rated as a three-star hotel.

Day 1: Arrival and head to Ho Chi Minh City (also known as Saigon)

Please book your flight to arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN). You will be picked up from the airport and be transferred to a hotel. After that, there will be an orientation walk around the city center. Dinner at Ngon Restaurant with a great collection of authentic local food in Saigon. Overnight will be at Saigon.

Day 2: Saigon cooking class and city tour

Today highlight is a cooking class with Vietnam Cookery Center. One hour before the cooking class, you will have an accompanied tour to the spectacular Ben Thanh market. During the market visit, you will get to know the classic Vietnamese produce, from fruit and vegetables to meats and seafood. You will learn how to recognize the different Vietnamese ingredients and be guided how to use them in cooking.

After the market visit, you will return to Vietnam Cookery Center. At the center, even inexperienced cook can create tasty dishes within a few hours. You will continue by a hands-on initiation to the Vietnamese cuisine art, giving you the opportunity not only to learn how to cook them and reproduce them once you return to your home country but also to taste their delicious dishes. The menu will be salad, one local soup, and braised fish or pork. You may enjoy the food you have self-prepared and also by the restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will get on a tour to discover Saigon, the dynamic and bustling city so called "The Pearl of Far East". You may visit Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post office then drive to China Town. They will take you to visit Cho Lon - the biggest whole sales market in Saigon then visit Thien Hau Pagoda - where you can see hundred of local people come to worship for their health, luck, and happiness.

Not only that, grab the chance to enjoy an authentic Vietnamese coffee at a local coffee shop in the typical street of China Town - where the famous French movie “The Lover” had been filmed. Dinner at Indochine Restaurant and overnight will be at Saigon. Today's meal plans include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 3: Saigon to Cai Be to Vinh Long to Can Tho

You will start your day with a morning drive from Saigon to Cai Be. Upon arrival, you will visit Cao Dai Temple in Cai Be before embarking on the boat trip to colorful Cai Be floating market, then visit some local home factories to discover traditional rice paste making, rice pop corn, coco candies, and longans drying process.

After enjoying beautiful lunch at a superb Indochina villa, Le Longanier, located in a luxuriant garden by the river, your sampan will cruise to Dong Hoa Hiep. On the way, you will be able to observe the typical Mekong delta rural life. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River still remain unknown to many people.

You will also visit an ancient mandarin house dating from the 19th century where the family will welcome you with a cup a tea. Then, you will proceed to Vinh Long, passing beautiful landscapes along Dong Phu canal, Binh Hoa Phuoc, and An Binh Island that famous for their fruit orchards. If you like, a stop at Tam Ho bonsais garden is possible. You will have a chance to taste the typical tropical fruit there and enjoy the authentic traditional music show performed by local farmer there.

On the way back to Vinh Long, visit the local brick and pottery factory - where you can experience the way of local people firing brick in a special brick kiln by rice husk from Mekong Delta. After that, you will return to the bus to drive to Can Tho. In the evening, you can enjoy a dinner at Cay Buoi Restaurant - where you can try the typical local food of Mekong Delta. Overnight will be at Can Tho. Today's meal plans include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 4: Can Tho to Saigon

After breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on a boat trip to visit Cai Rang floating market where local people wholesale all product of Mekong Delta. It will be a great chance for taking part to the local activities and taking pictures. Then, continue by boat to visit the local bustling inland market before visiting rice processing factory.

The car will pick you up at Ninh Kieu Wharf and take you for a visit to Binh Thuy house - the most impressive ancient house in Mekong Delta before having lunch at Sao Hom restaurant. After lunch, transfer back to Saigon. Dinner at Cuc Gach Quan restaurant - where you can experience the typical Vietnamese meal. Overnight will be at Saigon. Today meal plans include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 5: Saigon and departure day

Morning is free at leisure until transfer to Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) for departure flight.

  • Boat trip to colorful Cai Be floating market and Cai Rang floating market as well as a cruise to Dong Hoa Hiep
  • Visit Ben Thanh market, Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post office, China Town, and Cao Dai Temple in Cai Be
  • Visit the local brick and pottery factory and rice processing factory
