Join Sherry Page in this unforgettable getaway, where you will explore the beautiful village of Sausalito, with its hidden stairways and paths, and delight in the array of produce of the area's farmers markets. Visit the nearby wine country of Napa Valley and experience the best food, and wine of the region. Spend time in San Francisco and taste some of the most incredible cheeses, explore the gourmet mecca of the San Francisco Ferry Building, and dine in Sherry's favorite restaurants.
During your getaway, you will be staying in comfortable hotels in Napa Valley, Sausalito, and Cavallo Point.
On Sunday afternoon, you will be picked up at the San Francisco Airport (SFO) and driven to Napa Valley, where you will begin your adventure. That evening, you will dine in a casual local restaurant, featuring a wood-fired oven and some of the best food in Napa Valley.
On Monday, following a Wine Country breakfast, you will spend the day with friends at a nearby winery. First, you will tour the olive mill and learn how their award-winning olive oil is made. Next, you will have a tasting of their barrel-aged vinegars at their vinegar shed, before driving out to see their beehives. Afterwards, you will have a barrel tasting of some of their latest vintages. That will be followed by lunch in their beautiful produce and flower garden. After lunch, you will explore the town of Yountville and visit Sherry's favorite chocolate maker. That evening, you will have an exquisite meal at one of the best restaurants there.
On Tuesday, you will have breakfast at the delicious Bouchon Bakery. Afterward, you will have a special wine tasting or wine blending exercise. Following a nice lunch, you will depart Napa Valley for the town of Sausalito. After checking into your hotel, you will explore the downtown area of Sausalito, where you will dine at an Italian restaurant nearby.
On Wednesday, following breakfast, you will take the ferry into San Francisco. While there, you will explore the gourmet mecca of the San Francisco Ferry Building. After serving lunch there, you will see some of the sights of the city. That will be followed by a chocolate tasting. Afterwards, you will have an early dinner in the city and then return to Sausalito for the night.
On Thursday, you will head up to the Marin farmers market, where you will see a vast selection of seasonal fruits, vegetables, and flowers, along with artisan products, such as breads, chocolates, and jams. After that, you will take your selections back to Sausalito, where you will enjoy a nice picnic in a local park. That afternoon, you will explore some of Sausalito's hidden staircases and paths, along with a number of shops, including food, jewelry, art, clothing, and shoe stores. That night, you will enjoy dinner at a local seafood restaurant, featuring sustainably-fished seafood, and locally-grown produce.
On Friday, following breakfast, you will head over to Cavallo Point, where you will explore hiking trails and enjoy the incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the bay. You will have lunch at Cavallo Point and then return to downtown Sausalito. That night, you will dine in a beautiful private setting.
On Saturday, you will be escorted back to the San Francisco Airport (SFO) for departure.
Sherry has taken cooking classes all over the world, including Raymond Blanc's Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons near Oxford , Le Cordon Bleu in London, and culinary weeks with Patricia Wells in both Paris and Provence. Sherry has also taken classes in Japan, Italy, and locally, in California. In addition, she has completed a number of professional wine classes at the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena. She is very passionate about cooking and entertaining.
During this getaway, you will explore the beautiful waterside village of Sausalito, with its hidden stairways and paths; visit the nearby wine country of Napa Valley and experience the best of olive oil, food, and wine; and spend time in San Francisco, exploring its culinary scene and dining in remarkable restaurants.
Sherry Page's focus is on local, seasonal ingredients and recipes. The recipes are designed to be prepared at home. Food allergies can be accommodated for with advance notice.
Please arrive at San Francisco International Airport (SAO). Sherry Page will pick you up from there. The pick-up is included in the price.
